  1. October pics and video thread

Thanks guys. I think this is maybe my favorite video I've made. Yes. All bags always stay full. Only Ramfill changes. Non surf side varies between 30% and 60% depending on people weight and fuel level. Speed is set between 11.3 and 11.6 MPH. CATS is around -15-25 goofy and 10 to 20 regular depending on surf or skim. Trim is around 50 to 60 for surf and 60 to 70 for skim. Yeah. A few of the shots really showcased just how glassy it was. Other than the temps, it was a really great day! Yeah, a painters pole. About 16' I think. Worked really well. I'm gonna invest in a better one that has the button for releasing the telescope. Just for ease of use. The aluminum pipe got cold on the hands.

Alright... lets see if this one gets taken down by Youtube. Thanksgiving (Canadian) Day surf! https://youtu.be/LKmhXr9eWBs
  3. Centurion's Line for 2017

Hunter Clement has it in his possession right now. He sent me some pics today. Took it to some event in Ca. I like how he's blasting out of the shot in the last one. Easily twice as high as my best airs. Dudes not a mere mortal. Lol

So... are you able to pee standing up yet?
  5. October pics and video thread

Yes. I've rode those white fins for a little over a year. Then tried large Blackstix and WCT's and now the Chaos fins. They all have a very similar foil to them. But the Chaos fins have a thinner edge and maybe even thinner across the whole fin. As far as I know, they're the only fin of the bunch I have that are actually designed for wakesurf and not ocean surf. Whether that makes a difference, I don't know. The whole setup is new to me so it's hard to really get a feel of any difference. The board just felt faster the second time out and I so happened to have the chaos fins on it. Thanks. Can't wait to make the edit with these angles! Yeah, my wife and kid were over it a month ago. Pretty lame. Lol Now now. Don't start! LOL. That shot is really cool showing the glassy lake we practically had to ourselves. Just us and three fishing boats!
  6. Of all the issues mentioned above, the gelcoat burn from the prop has to be the worst of them all.

That's the new "foil" fins he's selling. I don't know what it's supposed to do, but it looks cool! LOL.
  8. I wonder how the market share has shifted? It used to be, if you wanted a quality surf boat, you bought a Centurion. Now, arguably, every brand has a quality surf boat. At least they're trying. And I believe most of the brands have succeeded in making excellent waves. So now you go by pricepoint and or options/fit/finish. So Centurion either had to make them cheaper, or bring up the options/fit and finish. Just my current opinion.

We went out yesterday. On Canadian Thanksgiving. Got to the lake and wasn't sure we could even launch the boat. They drained the lake down 12' to allow room for the coming rain storms. I've never seen it down that far before. Once launched, you couldn't get the boat to the ends of the docks. So my buddy had to swim out to us and another friend had to swim back to shore to go get the truck. Glad it wasn't me! LOL. Now, it was nothing close to what Bluesman had for temps, but it was cold enough! Air was 8C/46F and water was 13C/55F. Everyone wore shortys! My second time in,I was shivering. I brought along an extending painters pole and stuck the GoPro to the end of it. Got some pretty cool shots I think. Got to try the HCpro with some Chaos flare fins and small rears. REALLY liked the fins! Board felt even faster than before. Still struggling with the board pearling from time to time which is very frustrating.

Bluesman... You sir, are a legend!
  11. Unless your gear weighs several hundred pounds... I don't think it'll make a difference. That video is very cool. I spent a few years loading trucks and that's always been important. You distribute the weight as evenly as possible with heavier product toward the front of the trailer.

Great board. Very fast. Had great success with air reverses. Had issues with alleyoops. And pearled more often than I did with the Emily. It's an inch shorter and quite a bit narrower than the Emily. Plus I'm riding with different fins and a rear set of some weird triangular fins. So, a lot of different going on. Gotta work out the kinks.
  13. LOL. I can just imagine the frustration! Glad you got it off. Wow
  14. centurion avy

It can be done but it's a serious PITA. You'll need a bag under the walkway AND in the walkway. One member on here went as far as to retro fit/make his walk through into a C4 seating arrangement. My advice would be to keep looking for a non walk through.
  15. Out today on my friends 2017 S226. Great boat, great wave, great time, as always. Tell me if anyones ever seen the trick I do at 1:17 in the video before. I've never seen it. It's kind of a bottom turn with a backside 180 to surface 180. Landed first try, so it's not like it's a game changer. LOL #oldschoolhiphop
  16. I think the Viskus is great! Want to see how long it'll last though. There was a small issue with the new formula that I got. Some of the top layer(the sticky part) was tearing off, still stuck to my foot. Apparently a lamination issue. Thanks Nate. I'm sure I'll figure out the HC. I've been talking to Nick about doing a new Chaos board for next year. I was really starting to like my old SS before it cracked. Lol. Just trying to figure out which one to do.

    Yeah....no. Lol.

Some pics from yesterday's surf sesh with wakesurferadam and crew. Videos on my instagram.
  19. Oh yeah! Almost forgot to mention that I got my new Soulcraft HCpro and actually got to ride it yesterday! Right now, I think I still prefer the old Emily over it. I'm sure with some time, I'll end up loving the HCpro. It's quite a bit narrower than the Emily. It's faster at the back of the pocket. Had some issues with it pearling or even just catching the nose in the wave while charging into an air. Rode out 3 air reverses(new record for me). Even stuck the first one I tried! But had issues with allieoops which I had down pat on the Emily... Like I said though, just need some time on it before I make up my mind on whether it's right for me or not. There's a couple videos on my Instagram account. @thatfnbastrd_steve Had an awesome day out with 5 friends who all kick butt.
  20. Yes, direct from Viskus. I emailed them as per H20's direction, and after a few weeks a man named Joe contacted me and asked me what I was after. A few weeks later I had my order delivered.
  21. CGA vests

I should add that I always hang up the jackets in my garage as soon as we're home. They spend very little time in the sun.
  22. CGA vests

They had shorty wetsuits for $20 last month. I should have grabbed a couple but I didn't. For vests, I've had a Liquid Force vest for six years and it's held up really well. Other than stretching out a bit, it's as good as new. Bought a very expensive, wonderfully soft Ronix vest last year and it's already toast. Absolutely LOVED this vest. The material they used on just the one side (?) has cracked and come apart at the seam. So now it's super loose. I've taken it to my dealer and they're trying to get it warranty'd. I'll be surprised if they do anything for me, but it's worth a try. So now I'm rocking the BodyGlove Centurion jacket. It's very nice, but doesn't quite fit me as good as the Ronix. May have to check out the P5 vests now!
  23. I've heard that it doesn't last very long, especially in warmer climates. Don't know how much use I'll get through now and spring, but I'll keep you updated on my thoughts.
  24. I got a mix of a couple whites and a few custom colored ones. All in their new "stickiest formula". Can't wait for tomorrow!
