  1. '09 Elite V C4: Best surf setup

Yeah man. That shaper is WAY too aggressive! Closer to 45degree works much better. Glad to hear you’re having some luck with the wave
  2. Close but no cigar... You are correct, what your wife did, I've done dozens of times. There should be a failsafe when you power up the boat that closes the Ramfill gates... I know I have to hit "open" even though they say open already before I can close them in that scenario. I do use that gravity fill trick as well! No need for overfilling the rams to make sure the tanks are full! On to the current issue of the newly installed valves. H, I did try all of that and more and nothing worked. So I called Fineline to ask for assistance. The guy tells me that the valves must be wired backward from the factory. So he says, " just pull the wires out of the adaptor/plug and flip them "... So I ask, " they'll just push right back into the plug "? He says " yep "... well....... they didn't! So I try to take the plug apart to see if I can McGuyver it. No dice. Go to the auto parts store to get a new one. Plug, pins, and specialty crimping tool comes to well over $100... not doing that! LOL. Then it dons on me that I have 3 broken Valterra valves just sitting there with perfectly good plugs attached! A little snip, crimp, and heat gun later and I'm all good! LOL. All valves working properly now! No more shutting the boat off and running to the back and diving into the engine bay to close the drain valve! Burnt my arm 3 times over the last month! LOL. Worth it though!
  3. September 2018 Ride Pics

Great pics Rhunt! Looks like a whole lot o' fun!!
  4. July pic video thread

Thanks fellas! Looking forward to seeing what you got for us this winter Nick! I'll post some stuff throughout the winter as well, but it'll be alot of drysuits and boots riding... which is pretty sucky! LOL
  5. You’d have to be some kind of “touched” individual to go from a Centurion to a Mastercraft ... lol
  6. July pic video thread

No August or September Pic and Video thread...? Shame on you guys! I just whipped together an edit from my ride last week and wanted to share it with y'all! I know I've been away from here for quite some time, but I still love the Crew! Hope everyone had a great summer!
  7. Ri237 vs Tige zx3

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Oh... are you being serious?? Two friends of mine each own those two boats... They surf together ALL the time. Over a two year span, the Ri237 had 400hours. The ZX3 had less than 100hours... think they both had similar waves? And they tried all kinds of added lead and displacement.
  8. My boat was constantly dumping water out of the bilge port when I was surfing. Ended up being the bow bag had a 3" long cut in it. It was obvious to me that it was caused by a razorblade... purhaps when cutting open the box it came in...? I notified my dealer, who "used to " take very good care of me. They told me Centurion doesn't cover damaged ballast bags. I'm 90% sure that was the dealer not wanting to deal with it. So I glued and ducktaped the crap out of it and slowed the leak. Maybe that was the same issue with this guys boat??? Sure we'll never know.
  9. Thanks infinity!! I used to religiously spray my old valves on my fx22 with a graphite spray. But I’ve never had any issues with my new boat until now. And as far as the drain gate goes, it’s now too late. Lol. I will try to find that wd40 you mentioned. Thank you very much. ‘I’ve been talking to Wizard Lake Marine about a new RI237 for a while and I mentioned my issue to them. They are trying to get my valves replaced ASAP, but even more incredible, they may loan me a used RI237 to be able to practice before worlds! Talk about a great dealer! Why can’t more dealers put their customers needs first?
  10. What Infinity said... Plus, I always just hit open and wait a second or two, then hit close. I am sure there is nothing wrong with your gates. That being said... I have an issue with my gates, so I'm going to hijack this thread! A few weeks ago, my fill gates both jammed up when I took in out of trailer mode. Both of the metal T handles snapped off. I took the valves out to check them out and see if I could maybe lubricate them. They were both in decent condition, but the rubber gaskets between the valve and the piping were worn/torn. So I assumed this was causing some binding. After reassembly, they worked okay, but not great. But then the next time out, they were incredibly hard to open again. Then to top it all off, just two days ago, the starboard drain valve failed on me in a different way. The handle and rod pulled right out of the valve assembly! So I was stuck with full ramfill tanks going back to the dock and onto my boat trailer! Super fun. If you want a laugh, go check out my instagram page @thatfnbastrd_steve to see me pumping the brakes on my truck and ejecting 5 gallons of water out the side vent holes at passing cars! Anyone else have this issue? Does anyone lubricate their vlaves? With what?
  11. You hit the nail on the head right there. It's from that gap. Just needs to be bent up a hair more. Also, a suckgate type device solves almost all issues with clean waves on either side! But it makes the wave wrap around behind you instead of going straight back.
  12. The only way this could be possible is if someone switched either the hoses, or the actual switches just to mess with you! The wires go directly from the switch to the pump on the older boats.
  13. Last month we were having a great old time out on the water when I noticed a funny sound. Turned out that the bilge pump wasn't pumping and there was a lot of water in there. Fortunately I had installed an auxiliary line to my ballast system. Used it to suck the water out. The next day it was time to contort my old body into a ridiculous position in order to get at the bilge pump to try to troubleshoot. Newer model Centurions have the bilge pump mounted in THE MOST difficult place to get to. Right behind some angle iron piece that I believe the rudder mechanism mounts to. Anyway, I pulled out the pump and turned it upside down. The float triggers the pump to fire up, but the little plastic impeller ain't spinning. There's one screw holding a guard/body to the rest of the housing. Here's what I find. The metal stud that spins the impeller was completely rusted away... non existent. And all that black junk was crammed in around the impeller. Turns out that black stuff was bits of a serpentine belt. Immediately I checked out my belt... it was perfectly fine. So I guess the previous owner had one shred on her and never cleaned up the bits. Or whoever did her maintenance. So, I cleaned up everything I could see and reach and proceeded to install a new bilge pump. Next time out, the pump worked perfectly. Now, weeks later, I take the boat out again (second time since install) and... bilge pump no worky. FML. So today I pulled the new pump back out and it works perfectly in my hand. So now I'm thinking maybe the hose is plugged. So I disconnect the hose from the pump and shove it into a milk jug. Grab the garden hose and crank it on and put it into the side thru hull for about ten seconds. Seemed to flow, so I checked the jug. Yep, full of water. Pour it out and find a full handful more of the shredded serpentine belt! Put it all back together and now have my fingers crossed that that was the last of it. Thought about parking the boat on a hill and flushing the bilge, but that's easier said than done. Finding a hill is no biggie. Having water supply at said hill is another story. Cheers.
  14. Hey! Sorry for the late reply. Been busy with the board company and haven't had alot of time to check with the Crew. I had talked to Larry sometime in the middle of the summer about making me a new FAE. Then about a month later I sent him another email asking if it was being made and if I needed to ship the original back first... no response. Another two weeks later I emailed again... no response. So, I do not endorse his product and now I have to resort to having a machine shop hack it up to try to make it work myself. The mudflap thing I strapped to it does the trick, but looks god awful, so I'm trying to do away with that. On another note. The silent stinger does an ok job at reducing fumes and noise, but the way they have it allowing exhaust to exit the trailing edge of the plate kinda defeats the purpose. On really cold days we still get the "white cloud" coming at you on my buddies Ri and Fi's. cheers fellas!
  15. S238 tow vehicles

Another EcoBoost fan here! Hey yall. LOL. I too just bought my 17 3.0 f150. Installed airbags for extra ride handling. I had a 06 5.4L f150 before this and they are night and day different. I have no problems hauling my FS33 up and down some pretty steep grades here. Does it compare to a newer diesel?... no... not even close. But it definitely does the trick!
  16. October 2017 Pics n video thread

My good friend and crazily talented skim rider Codey Inman and myself from last night. Air temps are down but water temps aren't too bad yet. Mid 60's.
  17. October 2017 Pics n video thread

That's incredible Aaron. What a great season. You've come a long way REALLY fast! Hope to see you at a few events next year. We got out this evening for a quick new product test. New skim design and new surf design for a perspective pro rider. The boards performed really well! Which is always nice. I just reformatted my iPad and just realized now that I haven't got the "photo stream" thing setup yet. So, I guess no pic. Later I guess. Lol
  18. Adam if you mount rev10's in the middle between the Downfires I'm gonna kick you in the shin every time I hit my head on them! Lol
  19. October 2017 Pics n video thread

Good to see you enjoying your new ride Nick! A quick edit from last week. Working on holding my revert/switch riding longer. Hard to keep the fins from grabbing and forcing you to spin around. But I'm getting it. Had to don a shorty. Water temps at 65-68.
  20. October 2017 Pics n video thread

Yeah man. Evan F. is a pretty rad dude. Got to hang out with him a couple times this year. And he even signed on as a sponsored Soulcraft rider right after worlds! Huge congrats to him. Nate, that's awesome!
  21. I had a pretty sweet September. Got invited to worlds. Took first place at worlds. (Landed my first heelside air reverse at worlds) I've tried it probably 100 times before that. So that was sweet. Ended up first in points in the CWSA rankings by a hair. It all began seven years ago with Centurioncrew.com Just a handful of dudes giving me pointers before I ever tried to get up on a wakesurf board. I know I haven't spent a lot of time on here lately, but I'm forever thankful for this forum and its members. Keep the stoke alive.
  22. Custom boards

Well put CO. A custom high end board isn't the right choice for everyone. But once you have a solid wakesurf ability under your belt, it's just that much better to progress on.
  23. LOL. Been waiting to hear from you about this! Doesn't matter how many people tell me how it works and why it's the way it is, it's still flawed. I've been in 6th place since Wakeshredder... where I came in 2nd. After that, five comps in total, all first and second place, still in sixth! LOL. I don't care, as long as I'm invited to worlds! Speaking of which... are you going to attend?
