  1. Old centurions

There are a few of us old boat owners on here.
  2. Well I am at it again. Started with the stereo delete and adding the WetSounds Bluetooth control switch. Needed to add a switch hole for the WS. This has now morphed into new dash panels being laser cut. While I am at it I might as well replace the 24 year old switches. Then decided to ditch the old fuse holders and replace with resettable breakers. What the hell while they are laser cutting I might as well add more switches so the panels look the same on each side. Can't have unused switches so am going to add LED interior lighting and underwater lighting. I do have a couple of questions for the experts. My dash panels were previously plastic and I had painted them about 10 years ago and it held up great but had a corner crack. New ones are going to be aluminum. I am thinking of scotch brighting them in one direction to give a smooth uniform texture then etching primer and paint and clear versus anodizing. Looking at this route as the anodizing is more costly and the places I have found are over a month out to get me in. Seeing as the paint has held up great previously is there any reason not to paint. Second question is one of the switches was going to be stereo on off as I used to have it wired directly to power so I could play without the key and it simply shut off with my percko dual battery switch. Adding the switch I could bypass having to shut off all the batteries. The wetsounds blue tooth also has an on off so thinking I can wire it without the switch directly to power as it is easy to reach to power off. Any benefit to running a stereo switch?
  3. 94 Falcon Project

Let me know what they say. What does the back deck of yours look like? I wonder if it is the same as mine.
  4. 2004 Sports

Most likely will have to go to a upholstery shop and have it custom made. If you have the old one it should pretty simple to replicate for them
  5. 2006 T5 Air Warrior

It would depend on what you are looking to do. If you are wanting to surf mainly then the avy for sure. If your wanting to ski then the T5. You will have more room in the Avy but as an owner of a slalom tug that is not even an open bow you can still get people into them and have a fun day just not as roomy. You can also surf a direct drive but it is not its design and you will be working just to stay in the pocket that is the size of a dime. So my two cents from a skier is that the Avy is a better fit unless you are going to be chasing bouys in a course
  6. They have fiberglass encapsulated wood stringers in that boat. It is the exact same construction as your Supra. That being said it could be the floor and not the stringers. My 94 floor is very solid except for the filler panel in the rear has a little flex in it but it is not soft just a little weak.
  7. In for the win 94 with 3493 hours on original power.
  8. 1992 Falcon Parts

Great Lakes skipper will have a pylon that fits. You can use the first seat on the above link which is almost exactly like original if you wish. I would simply get one that you like. The next issue will be the base. Mine is on a hard plastic base that is angled from about 2 inches to 3-4 four inches.
  9. Just a little video from our lake powell vacation
  10. Lift foil....so cool!

    That really cool. THanks
  11. Now you know why I have my 94 Falcon still. I have skid behind just about every boat out there and there has been none I like better to ski behind. That hull goes back to the tru trac days of the mid 80s. There were slight tweaks here and there but nothing major changed. They did introduce the Lapoint I believe in 95 (my brother has one) that has a slight V hull but I don't like it as well to ski behind. The tru trac hull has gone through all the way to the eclipse and even the carbon pro is very very similar.
  12. Now you know why I do not have a new slalom tug. I have not found one that skis better than my 94 Falcon. They are as good but not any better. Mine does have more of a bump at 28 off than the new ones but not much more. The hull is pretty much the same as the older tru trac which went through the eclipse as well.
  13. Did Shane figure out where the water in the cylinders was coming from? There are only a couple of reasons that could happen. If it runs correctly could it be that you are pulling water back up through the exhaust when you shut it off?
  14. Lake Powell Fun

Yup most likely as we were in Padre up Kane
  15. Lake Powell Fun

Yea we got there the 9th. We were in Kane creek in padre bay. Will be heading back in august. We had crazy wind on the 11th that had a gust of I'm guessing 80+ mph. It was the strongest wind I've ever felt and it tore our awning to shreds. After that it was great weather.
  16. Lake Powell Fun

Dji phantom 3. It was my daughters Christmas gift and her flying.
  17. I am wondering if anyone has used an app for iPhone that provides speed based volume control through blue tooth?
  18. It works great in my car when I tested it
  19. Found it All of these are battery eating machines as they utilize GPS
  20. You can send me your teak one when you find one. Mine could use another upgrade. Good luck with your search I am guessing you might be able to order one from your dealer.
  21. I have tried everything on my swim platform and by far the best thing I have used is an 80/20 mixture of linseed oil and mineral spirits. First application I did three coats with full drying in between. Since that initial time about 7 years ago I do one application a year. It stays looking good all season. Plus it is not slippery at all.
  22. If you have a wiring harness in the tower then you should be able to see the wires going into it under your gunnel. If not it is not that big of deal to run. I am not sure what that tower looks like but there are several connectors out there that will work and it would depend on how you are wiring them from your amp as to which one to use. Here is an example https://www.amazon.com/Wakeboard-Tower-Speaker-Wiring-Kit/dp/B00CA5TQYE
  23. 94 Falcon Project

Yea I will not get rid of mine either. I bought it new for $14,500 I might have added another $3,000 in upgrades over the years so it has cost me less than $1,000 a year for the boat (not including maintenance). My wife thinks we should get another boat and just keep both but we have enough boats in the family that are sport specific from slalom to surfing we are covered. I have been thinking of seeing if I can order the sea deck stuff that says centurion on it for the top of the Gunnels on the side, and then custom order a matching part to go on the very back top deck where I have three plastic traction pieces on each side. I wish that when I re=carpeted that I would have done seadeck in instead but that can go in next time.
  24. I feel like I am able to chime in here as I most likely have the oldest boat on here. I have used Collonite wax once a year since day one. I have tried everything out there and will say 303 for Vinyl and hot sauce products for exterior. You would not know that my boat is 24 years old with over 3000 hours on it as it really looks like new still. One thing that I do is I keep a couple chamioux in the boat and wipe it down daily if it is going to be in the water for prolonged times (Lake Powell) otherwise I am using hotsauce when it gets taken out .
  25. 94 Falcon Project

Interior accent LEDs are in and the job all but done. Only have interior to put back in but am going to pull the boat out and power wash the carpet prior to putting it back together. The thing I did seemed to build on the " I'm going to be doing this so I might as well do this". All this started with a simple stereo delete. Here's what I ended up doing: Replaced Dash Panels with laser cut aluminum $89.00 Painted a metallic grey w/ clear coat $12.00 All new switches and replaced the fuses with circuit breakers $128.00 Added 4 switches to the right side dash panel that previously had nothing there Removed stereo head unit and replaced with WS Bluetooth rocker switch $99.00 Added Red life form 6 underwater lights $512.00 Added Red LED accents under gunnels and under helm and under the closed bow (so it could have light not for accent).$16.00 Grand total $856.00 Yea I would never get that out of this boat but then again I don't see myself ever selling it as it is only worth maybe $10,000. But you will not see a better looking 24 year old centurion. Crap I just remembered that I have to add two cup holders to hide the holes in the dash from the previous stereo where the wires went to under the dash. Oh well it never ends
