  1. on pricey surf boards. Who needs a board when you can do this... https://vimeo.com/176248673
  2. The 1631 is the way to go. Smooth as butter and dropped 1000rpm compared to the 1579 with full surf ballast.
  3. Guys I'm going to sell my 2015 s226 with 80 hrs on it. It has the 4 wetsounds towers, interiors and sub (not sure what package it was). Has surf tabs, upgraded rear fat sacs (1100 lbs each locker), FAE (never been installed), 2 extra props, 500 lbs wakeballast bags. Still has factory warranty on it. Was purchased around May 2016. Its the purple metal flake ( not for everyone but we love it). Looks new. Small rub on one area of the stainless rub rail is all. I'm in Tennessee so probably not as much resale value as out on the west coast. Question is... how much should I ask for it and expect to get. I know its hard to say without seeing it but you guys know these boats well. Thanks
  4. Pricing a 2015 s226

Yeah I know. Kind of mixed feelings on letting it go. We are just too busy with so many other things in life. 2 active young girls that are into golf, cheerleading, gymnastics, etc... Spread pretty thin. We are building a new house, work schedule and so on and so on. The boat is both a blessing and a burden sometimes. We are letting it and the houseboat go. Time to create some breathing room.

  6. Pricing a 2015 s226

Thanks for the info guys. Based on what you said, I'm going to price it to sell. Heck, you west coasters can pay to have it shipped based on the price and still come out good. Here's a link to the only ad I have posted thus far. I'll post it in the classified section here and onlyinboards.com in the next few days. http://www.lsn.com/boats-water-crafts/2015-supreme-s226-surf-boat/5459955.html Thanks again!!!
  7. Called Nettle props and they suggested calling ACME. So I called and spoke with Kevin at ACME for a while today. He was very helpful and suggested the 1631. He said either the 1579 (which I damaged) or the 1631. He said the cup difference would cause the 1631 to act like it had a pitch of 15.25 and thought that would be the sweet spot in reducing rpm's but still having the hole shot. Should act like the 1579 but with slightly reduced rpm's. He guaranteed the prop so if I'm unhappy with it, I can return it and swap for a different one. I'll let you know how it perfoms on my end. Thanks for the info guys.
  8. I was running the 1579 which is the same as the 1631 with the exception of the cup. The 1579 has .105 cup vs the .150 cup of the 1631. The 1579 is fair but still requires 3500-4000 rpm with full ballast/lead (4000lbs). Also takes 4000 rpm to push 28mph empty except 500lbs lead. How much difference will the cup make?
  9. Guys, what's the latest on this topic? I had switched last year to the 1579 to avoid the "burn" and hit a log this weekend and now need to order a new prop while I wait to have the other repaired. I have the first year s226 (no bubble) and no prop burn thus far. ACME's website is showing the 1433 or 1617 for heavily weighted boats. However, both of these have a 14" diameter which is why I switch to the 1579 to begin with since it had a 13.5" diameter. The 1619 is 13.5 x 13.75... how would this one work? What do you guys recommend almost a year later?
  10. H was right. I've been in the counterweight and surf tab camp while H and many others stand by listing the boats. I never could get enough push with listing but with counterweight and tabs, push was good and wave was good but not great. I knew these boats ( 2015 s226) could do better. BTW I'm goofy. I read through some old threads and this is what I did and it worked. So easy to setup and the wave was excellent and do was the push. I've never surfed a wave that good. GOOFY SETUP: CENTER TANK: full Both PORT and STBD quick fill hard tanks: full STBD: 1100 lb v-drive full ( reinforced divider and fill til it shoots water) STBD: 200 lbs steel pellets under v-drive sac STBD: 400 lbs lead under side seat SPEED: 11.6-13. ( I ran 13) NO SURF TABS‼️‼️‼️‼️ CENTER TRIM: 75% Got boat up to speed and opened Quick Fill on port side and drained until wave was silky smooth and then CLOSED it.
  11. If you upgrade your PnP bags, DON'T forget to reinforce the engine divider. I agree with H and Viking
  12. I have the 1100 lb Jumbo V-drive sacs in my rear lockers. I found the plastic engine divider pushed outside the track and rattling around against the engine. No damage was done other than the metal track that is screwed into the floor for the dividers to rest on was rolled in. After closer inspection, the screws were all intact (5 total) but severely bent. The metal track was completely straight. I was able to carefully and slowly unscrew the 5 screws and remove the track. I bought 5 new screws with a slightly larger & beefier diameter and reattached the metal track. I was thinking of attaching 2-3 pieces of vertical metal that runs from the top metal track to the bottom track on both port and stbd sides to help with the support. Has anyone else had this issue and what did you do?
  13. 5. Use a dremel to cut a notch in top of broken screw and back it out with a flat screwdriver.
  14. 1. Move channel (like you said) 2. remove broken screw with channel locks if you can grab it 3. Drill it out and replace with larger screws 4. Just relocate the holes in the channel by drilling new ones
  15. You wasted your money...

    Photoshop? What!!!!
  16. 2017 S238 ?

Axis does that windshield also. From axis point of view... It assist in the driver reaching out and grabbing the dock when coming in. Seems functional but ugly. Never liked it on the Axis.
  17. The new design is supposed to fix the spray. They told me to try it and work with them if there was an issue. If we couldn't get it resolved then I could return it for a refund. I'm out of town for the next 10 days so it will be a couple of weeks but I'll let you know my results with it. I hope it works.
  18. I was wrong...

I don't see why it wouldn't. Now that I've done it and seen it, it's so easy. Slam the side u want to surf, add a little counterweight with hard tank....drain until it cleans up and close the gate. Goofy side trim at 75-100%. Regular side with trim at 25-35%. Speed 11-13mph.
  19. Wonder if I got the discount? The price originally quoted was more than what they actually billed me.
  20. I have the 2015 s226 and have a new FAE sitting in my garage ready to be installed. Larry wanted measurements of the hinge plate screw holes thinking he would mount it to that. However it appears that he shipped it with a drain plug mount. I have to call him when ready to install. No specific instructions they have ready for the Supreme but they are finalizing them. I'll let you know how it goes and works.
  21. I was wrong...

My dealer told me that other than the tower locks, wake plate and prop bubble there weren't many difference between the 15's and 16's. Let me know how it goes??
  22. I was wrong...

^^^ Doesn't seem bad at all. Bow is up a bit but no more than usual. From previous boat experience and this one, Goofy side needs that much trim to clean up (75%-100%). Regular needs between 25-35% but I don't surf that side. I stole my 200lbs of bow weight to try out this new setup and it worked very well. I'm curious what same setup plus an extra 200 in the bow would've done. It should lengthen it out even more but it was already long. I didn't have any extra weight or people to play around with. The faster we went the longer the pocket. I surfed mostly at 13mph and stopped at that point. Very easy to surf.
  23. I was wrong...

I'm good at eating humble pie. For the record,Viking told me the same as H. I just couldn't get it. I think reinforcing the engine dividers and filling my v drive sacs to the max really made a difference. That plus losing counterweight with the exception of 200-250 lbs in the hard tank.
