In an egregious rookie mistake yesterday I had a floating log while I was looking at my screen to dial in a wake for my buddy. Luckily it looks like no hull damage happened the prop, shaft and rudder are fine as well. The CATS system took the hit and it is actually bent now at an angle. My dealer is going to look at this weekend. But Im wondering if any of you had ever had to replace this mechanism and roughly what am I looking at in $$$$? I forgot to take a picture, but its pretty pad. Ill probably end up having to do an insurance claim, but I have a pretty high deductible so if its not too bad I might just fix it without the insurance claim.

Centurion vs Malibu vs Nautique Power and Performance
chowder2016 replied to BoardCo's topic in Centurion Boats General Discussion
I can be surfing about 15 minutes from my dock. Lots of slow water. But to get from my dock to the different restaurants and hang out spots out on the Delta you have to cover pretty long distances. -
Centurion vs Malibu vs Nautique Power and Performance

This was on Sunday, 3 people in boat + 1000lbs of lead surfing at just over 3K RPM's. On my XR7 my guess would be that it uses slightly less fuel than the H6 since its not working as hard. Either way sub 10 GPH is amazing. I definitely blow through most of my fuel cruising from spot on the delta to another 45 minutes of cruising each way is pretty common for us. -
I fill the rams first then the PNP. Usually by the time you get the rope, flag, life jacket, go pro, wax and the entire production that takes place before you jump in the water the bags are full or full enough to start surfing. the wake off just the rams is better than any wake I ever got off my 22MXZ so everything else is just a bonus.

'17 Ri237 with Gen 5 (409 hp) engine - question about speed/efficiency
chowder2016 replied to ReSession's topic in Centurion Boats General Discussion
I had a '17 237 with the H5 engine. I though it was underpowered, and under full ballast at sea level it was very tough to get the boat to surf speeds especially if you didn't level out the weight a bit. It did not like all the weight in the back needed bow weight to even try to get up to speed. -
Costly Metal Flake Repair
chowder2016 posted a topic in Centurion Boat Maintenance, Performance, Troubleshooting
So my 257 got in a fight with a dock and the Black Metal Flake lost. I out a big scratch on her and it's absolutely killing me. Couple questions 1) is it possible to get it back to looking new 2) does anybody have a recommendation on a good place to take it in Northern California 3) any clue on how long it takes to repair? the scratch is along the port side about 1/16 thick running about 2 feet long. ?? bring on the jokes. Can't make me feel worse than I already do! -
Gonna be sad to see it go...

Yeah. That’s what I’m afraid of. But no way I’ll be able to upgrade next year. Stupid hour counts. 450 hours on these engines is nothing. It’s about 15-20k miles on a brand new car. -

Im right about the same hourly usage as you. I probably have about 4 more weeks to go on my season and Im at 190 hours. What do you think we might be able to get for these guys with 750 hours on it? -

360 fail, I eventually landed a couple, but lots of face plants on the way there. -

This weekend at Bullards Bar, conditions were perfect all weekend. -
My trailer seems to be popping out the center hub caps. The dealer has fixed it twice now and it keeps happening. I know its not a weight issue since I remove the lead from the boat when I tow long distances. Seems to happen on the front axle more, but it also did it on the real axles too.

Extreme Trailer Bearing Buddy

one more pic with all three tires showing... -
Ive used a full tank in a day, and that is an expensive weekend on the water especially with the XR7 and its premium fuel requirements. But it was about a 12 hour day on the water with hours of cruising.

@Nick213 is surfing in the drone footage and I just threw a quick cell phone video of me doing a 360. Warning there is some twerking in the video, so don't watch if you are sensitive. Also its not on youtube cuz of copyright crap. https://www.icloud.com/sharedalbum/#B0P5yeZFhAj5gY -

Pretty much! Very few people are better looking than the boats anyway lol. -

Its not too hard, at least with the Mavic its pretty easy. You can also get landing gear extenders on amazon for like 10 bucks. Im always scared I'm gonna rip the vinyl on the rear lockers where I land, so having an extra couple inches is nice. (i know know thats what she said....) -

I haven't measured it perfectly but I'm getting about 8 gph on mine. There is a lot of cruising long distances on the delta and I'm usually pushing it up to 28 mph and that really starts to eat up fuel above 4k rpm. But surfing at 3100-3400 it definitely sips fuel instead of guzzling it.

did you have this in follow mode or were you actually controlling it? Ive left my on follow mode and put the controller down while driving and it actually works pretty well, but Im always scared something bad is gonna happen lol. -
So my 257 is doing it again. It seems she is letting water in on the starboard side. All the valves are functioning correctly. But she still lists to the starboard side. I had to fill the rams on the port side to keep her level. I tried running trailer mode while under way by opening the drain valves. And it helps for a couple minutes and then she starts leaning again. Any ideas?

2018 ri237/ri257 changes
chowder2016 replied to Capdoogie's topic in Centurion Boats General Discussion
Yeah it dims it a little, but it is still pretty bright. These aren't complaints by the way. I love my boat. It's just little things I noticed that would make everything just a bit nicer for me. In sure some people would find my preferences annoying to them too. -
2018 ri237/ri257 changes

What I wish they would change: The radio controls -- should be a knob to turn volume up or down. The silent stinger sleeve needs to be re-done mine has ripped twice. The pull out seat needs some sort of locking mechanism, ive almost killed myself stepping on it and it slipping out. The built in cooler in the walk through to the bow cant be opened if the wind damn is in place, needs a bit of re-engineering. I don't know if this is doable and would probably be very expensive, but it would be cool if you could move the docking lights up or down, so if you are moving at night and the bow rises you could point the lights down to see better. Finally I wish you could dim the screen almost completely, again when driving at night the screen is so bright I end up putting a black T Shirt over the screen so that my eyes can adjust to night time conditions. None of this stuff is major, just little things that I think would be nice. -
So here is the interesting thing now. Looks like all the valves open and close correctly. And now the lean switched sides. So Saturday it was leaning Starboard and all day yesterday it was the Port Side that was filling up. I ended up just running RAMs full all day burning a ton of gas. When I dumped the rams for lunch its pretty sad to see her leaning from the restaurant. So Im thinking software issue yet again...

Bawshogg I'll check again. Thanks. Wheels. Surf tabs are up. It's just the ramfills filling on their own.
