  1. I put mine above the rub rail. As long as the font is close to the centurion font ( I ordered from Dome ) they will blend in and you wont even notice them.
  2. Yup, same here. You still get the Centurion grill for the sub and the 6.5's were wired with LED lighting. I didn't find installing the 8's that difficult. I used a rotozip and changed bits every speaker ( 6 bits) cuts like butter. You do have to make a new kick panel for under the helm as the 6.5 is different then 8. but that turned out to be a fun project A local stereo shop matched the vinyl perfectly and it looks great! Well worth the extra effort in my opinion.
  3. Thats what I have, along with Wetsound amps and a REVO12 Sub. Sound quality aside, I like the look of the 4 Rev 10's on the tower compared to the downfires.
  4. Ri 217 Surf Setup

Im coming from a VLX with SG as well. No comparison! Once you get the hang of how to build a wave on an RI be prepared to start hurting after a session..the wave is that big and powerful. From looking at the pic- ( and we all know pics are misleading) I would take centre tab out of it ( lower value ) and take some bow weight out as well. Also, if you see a knife edge cut in the middle of the wave, you need to drain off some counter weight to get the boat to list a bit more the tabs will not clean that up. ( watch that rub rail ) I have over a 100 hours on our two RI's and I am still learning how to set it up for all conditions! The SG boats are more turn key, you have less factors to play with but you kinda also hit a wall as you just can't get that wave exactly how you want it. With an RI think of it as blank piece of paper you can literally make any kind of wave you want. One other note- ! I would not use the presets to build from ( meaning you start with that profile and then edit to your changes)- start your build in the main surf/ballast screen. takes a bit longer as you have to set every value but for some reason they seem better, at least to us.
  5. Ri 217 Surf Setup

Do you have any pics of the wave? what is it not doing that you want it to? there is enough factory ballast that you should not need any extra weight to get a good wave. I would try this: Fill all ballast 100% ( overfill if you have not adjusted your timers to make sure you are 100% full) Set your tabs at 0-20-75 for regular side. ( 75-20-0 for Goofy) Set speed to 11.2 Leave cats at 0 Run the boat up to 11.2 without a surfer and just watch it and make adjustments until you see what you want. it prob will be washy, so start with dumping off your starboard quick fill. Should get better around 80-90% but feel free to go keep going down till it looks good. ( I think the sweet spot is the rub rail kinda kissing the water ) you then can start to mess with your star tab ( try taking it down to 45 and then slowly move down to 100 ) see what works best for your boat. I then would drain off the front center and center PNP you should see the wave become short, steep and really curl over. start to flatten out the center tab until you get the length you want out of it. Play with the front weight vs the center tab to get the desired wave. lastly I play with the speed. 10.9 all the way up to 12.5 to see what looks and feels the best. Cat's is confusing to me, most of the time we keep it at 0 Hope this helps and keep us posted with your results
  6. Ri 217 Surf Setup

Truth be told- Im struggling with my regular wave. I just don't have enough riders that ride regular to really spend time on it. Last time I had someone out, I was not impressed ) but I do have my goofy wave dialed in. ( yes still using bow weight but not as much as previouly said) speed is up to 12.1-12.3 (75-30-0 tabs) ( cats 0 ) 100/85 Ram fill ( I think the key here is to have the rub rail just kissing the water line while underway) Plug and Play rear is 100/100 and I am just filling the center front tank. We acually have two RI217's in our family mine is a 2017 and my inlaws have a 2016. I don't know why but they both require different setting. ( same 5-6 person crew- either boat ) only difference would be the prop shaft angle, unless the tabs are slighly mounted differently between boat to boat in production. Good luck with your wave and please keep us posted
  7. Do you offer lessons at all? If so could you PM me please?
  8. What software version do you have?
  9. Ri217 vs Fi23

It's true, like I said the wave is so good, I feel I can hurt myself, it's that firm!! it's all good but I have never felt that way about any of my other waves in the last 10 years of wake surfing.. the RI series is amazing.
  10. Ri217 vs Fi23

Either am I.. considering I have had 6 surf boats in the last 10 years.. ( tiges and Bu's) with the RI being by far the best. My in laws also have an RI ( there's is a 2016, That i loved so much much I ordered a 2017) and another family member has a G so we have lots of knowledge and exp to offer. The 217 ( see my setup thread) likes all the bow weight you put into it. Where the 237 doesn't seem to respond the same way. I'm full on both centre and front p/p and even will stuff a bit of extra weight up there if we have a small crew. My centre tab is anywhere from 35-80 depending on what we want for a wave. All I was saying is that if you got an "okay" wave and had the bow to the moon, you were doing something wrong and that's why you saw the results you did. I know it's hard to get a feel on a demo- low fuel no gear and sometimes a sales guy that doesn't have direct setup knowledge of that particular model.. the 237 is a beast and if they are willing to deal on it, go that way.. like wheels said you won't be sorry
  11. Ri217 vs Fi23

Bow rise? And decent wake? Sounds like your dealer didn't set up the boat right or go through the features correctly with you on your demo. Quick launch and then adjust centre tab to the boat is flat or to your liking.. and the wave- I came from a BU with SG.. the wave I have with our 217 is hands down better in every way, in fact I was just saying last night, finally a wave so big you can actually hurt your self on it when you get it wrong.
  12. Free swag

Nothing yet, but that's a cool for Centurion to do that. I will keep my eye out.. did it go to your cnd address or Wizzard?
  13. Are you still using your stock focal sub as well? How did you tune them? Meaning you have one in a proper box and then the stock one with the thing Centurion calls a enclosure.. lol
  14. Ri 217 Surf Setup

@BoardCo Thanks.. So cats is more complex then 1st thought. So in your wave tuning, where in your steps do you use cats? do you dial in a wave with the ballast- plates, center tab and speed and then use cats at the last step? or do you work around cats? Also without me climbing under the boat to test. Is postive turning the cat fin to the starboard or port side? Thanks in advance
  15. Ri 217 Surf Setup

@BoardCo Can you please set us all straight once and for all..LOL
  16. Ri 217 Surf Setup

I thought in the 257 thread someone said it was + for goofy and - for regular.. I'm all mixed up now. Like I said in my post i have not tested with cats yet so I have no real world testing other then reading that thread which I guess I read it wrong.
  17. Ri 217 Surf Setup

Since you are using -4 cat's I'm assuming your talking regular and not goofy? I ask because there is a lot of talk about which way cats is supposed to work ( from the other thread the RI's use + for goofy side and - for regular side) this could be a killer thread but we should all help each other 1st by specifying what side we are talking about just to stop any confusion. If we all get on the same page with listing our setups I think we can create a good database. Boat RI 217 with 409 - 1235 prop. Lake : Deep water ( 150+) For my goofy riders im using: Center tab 50 70/0 for tabs All PNP full (timers reset for longer fill times to make sure they are full) 85-90/100 for ram fill Cat's @ 0 ( but want to test more with the + setting ) Speed 11.2-11.6 Crew- 3-4 I love the above goofy wave its steep but super smooth and long. With that said, I actually want to mess with a little less rear weight as I think I am over using the center tab to flatten the boat out. I want to test 65/75 on the ram fill with 20-30 center tab, my guess is this might equal a longer wave but slightly less steep. I don't have many regular riders but will start to keep notes.
  18. 2015 Tower Speaker Suggestion

I have just about completed my build ( I wil post pics when 100% done ) it's hard ordering a new boat in the summer- you want to get out to use it but you also want to rip it apart and install everything. So it has been challenging but getting there in stages. It's been surprisingly fun and you really see the build quality in the boats when you crawl around and re route wiring. ( so much better then a malibu ) anyways short story is that I am 100% happy I chose to go with my own system. I just love the Wetsounds stuff. I did four Rev 10's six 8"REVO inboats and the new REVO HP 12 sub. Along with the WS 220.
  19. Ri217 Garage Specs

What kind of garage? I have a 3 car with a boat bay and it barely fits in that. it is 11.7 on trailer with the tower up. and will barely squeak in a 10FT wide door 28ft long area. If your trying to jam one into a regular garage I dont think it would fit. its got to be well over 8ft with the tower folded.
  20. Ri 217 Surf Setup

I litterly just picked up my 2017 RI217, went to the lake broke it in..hit fill.. messed with the center tab..jumped in the water and surfed.. the wave was amazing.. super long, tons of push, nice curl. Im sure we can get it even better with some tweaking but for out of the box.. wow! We had 3 adults and one child in the boat. We also came from a Malibu with SG. No looking back or regrets. Hope that helps.
  21. 2015 Tower Speaker Suggestion

Hello, I was reading an old thread from 2015 where you posted some pics of your stereo build using 4 X Rev 10's on the Maximus tower. I just ordered a new RI without the stock stereo, so I will be building from scratch. I to would like to go with 4 REV 10's on my tower and am wondering exactly what mounts your used to mount your 4. Thanks in advance.
  22. With the H5 gone seems like a lot of boats are being ordered with the base 409, is it enough? The factory price increase between base 2016 and 17 models seem ridiculous for such minor changes. (options excluded) Basically your stuck with a 409 for a higher price compared to what a H6 boat was last year. At least at the dealer I am trying to deal with. Was hoping for Centurion to offer some good boat show promotions to offset these 2017 price increases but if you read the fine print about the current boat show incentive, it is only for boats purchased @ Full retail... who pays that anytime, let alone during boat show season?..LOL Feeling frustrated!
  23. Great information flowing in this thread:) Thank you! I am @ Sea Level for most of our boating with the exception of vacations. ( those lake are about 800-1000 ft above ) I am currently deciding between a demo 2016 RI217 with the H6 vs ordering a 2017 with the 409..
  24. Ri237 prop options?

Any new info on this thread about production changes for shaft diameter and stock props? Im looking at a in stock RI217 2017 with the 409 vs ordereding a 2017. Basically the in stock boat would be a 2016 Q3 boat where the ordered boat would be a 2017 Q2 boat. Thanks in advance
  25. Surfing the Okanagan

We live in the lower mainland but vacation in Penticton In the summer time, it's our # 1 choice, Salmon Arm being second. Skaha lake is beautiful, not super large but large enough and plenty deep while still having warm water ( 78- 85F) On calm days you can also drop into the okanagon and day trip. For us it is the best of both worlds.
