  1. Ive got a 97. I built surfgates for mine. 500lb in each locker beside the motor and 5 or 6 friends, Sooo much better with gates. OH also leaves room to gain some ballast from a very large ice chest full of beer.
  2. Im looking for a little help. I bought a 97 elite V. The tower on it has a hard bimini that un bolts when you fold the tower down. Im in need of some parts. The only lettering on the whole tower is on the bracing on both sides towards the top. Its machined in and in big letters says L&L. No numbers or anything anywhere. Anyone ever heard of a company that built towers and went by L & L ? Also made some surfgates with lenco actuators, works awesome! Ill try to get some pics together. Thanks
  3. Ok guys, I'm fairly new to the forums and this is my first post. I've purchased an older elite-v and lovin it! I'm reading all I can about surf gates, surf tabs, a plates etc. I have fat sacks in the lockers on both sides of the motor and it's time to build a surf system. I have the ability and machinery to make or copy just about any thing out there but I'm wondering the best system for my boat. I have a 97. One of the first v's. The transom in the back is stepped at the top. Just wondering what the different systems do to the wave and what people have done to their older elites. Because of the stepped transom I was leaning towards a tab type system but I surfed behind an older malibu sunsetter with side gates and it worked really well. Thanks in advance for the opinions and the input!!!!
  4. Hi Im wondering if anyone has heard of this tower brand. L & L thats the only lettering or numbering I can find on the rack. Welded between the front and rear bars is a 7" long 4" high aluminum plate with L L machined out in big letters. The top 14" of the rack un pins so you could unpin the front and lay the whole tower down or unpin the top section and lift of the top with the speakers and leave the sides standing. Any help is appreciated!
  5. wood stringers?

I guess I'm a little gun shy about the stringers if they're wood cause of past experience with a boat I had. I'll inspect all I can.
  6. Ok sorryif this has been beaten to death but after an hour of searching I need to just come out and ask. Im looking at a 1996 centurion elite v that iterally has 200 hurs on it. It absolutely looks like its on the shoroom floor in 1996. Its a friend of mine and I can pick it up CHEAP! Im trying to find out if the stringers are wood, composite or fiberglass wrapped over wood. also any opinions about this boat Thanks!
