I have the sideswipe on my 06 lightning and it was a lil too much after a full day on the water. I installed the GGB exhaust inserts and noticed a significant improvement. It didn't require porting out the back or cutting any new holes in the hull. I would say the performance loss using them is not even noticeable. https://marineexhaust.ggb.ca/4-inch-insert-55-inch-long-sport-pair Its a fairly cheap fix to a pretty expensive problem.

I have the 06 Lightning C4 and i have been looking for a cover also. It primarily sits in the garage when not in use but it would be nice to have a travel cover for a descent price. Let me know how it does going down the highway.

As everyone I surf with surfs on the port side, we run a 600 lb bag in the rear port locker, 350 under seat on the port side, 150 lead behind the port sideswipe exhaust pipe, 250 in the center filled, and depending how many are in the boat I may run a little bow ballast or rear locker starboard ballast. I have put a 350 lb bag on top of the seats when it is just the wife and daughter with me. I actually pulled the front of the kick plate off and cut my sub access through it and mounted it to the front of my box. Looks as close to a factory setup as you can get then Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I purchased this model http://marineexhaust.ggb.ca/4-inch-insert-55-inch-long-sport-pair I have only installed it on one side of my sideswipe currently as i wanted to compare the overall difference between one side with it and one side without it. It has made a significant difference for very little cash. I had to actually pull the sideswipe fitting from the side of my hull to get the exhaust pulled apart but it wasn't hard to do. I just ran the bolt right through the exhaust pipe and made sure the bolt was on the top of the pipe (i didn't seal it). I would say if anyone wants a good throaty sound but not deafening this is your solution. i have noticed no power loss at all running with it installed.
