  1. Thanks, I'm guessing the H5 is going to be too small for my altitude at 6,000 feet, even with the torque of a 409.
  2. I've been searching, and can't find anything on details for the new 2016 engines. . I'm considering an FS33 and the sticker says: Gm Marine HD5I by Pcm With C-force 1.72:1 gear ratio (5 year warranty). I can't find hp details. . But the Centurion says the gear reduction transmission is supposed to provide higher torque for hole shot. The only info I can find on the engine is from Nautique: For 2016 Nautique has partnered with PCM and GM Marine Engine Technology to deliver the all-new H5 and H6 DI engines. The introduction of direct injection combined with variable valve timing in marine powertrains produces significant gains where they count. Feel the difference at the throttle with a perfect combination of horsepower and torque tuned specifically for performance that further improves your Nautique Boat. No details on the PCM website, but the GM Marine website does list a few new engines for this year, but not by that name. . Anyone know if the HS5I is one of these from the GM website? I'm hoping it is the 6.2. http://www.gmpowertrain.com/MarineEnginesControllers/ProductPortfolio.aspx
  3. I'm not seeing a new 2015 at a better price than this 2016. Maybe I'll shop around.
  4. Unfortunately, I'm a 3 hour drive form my nearest dealer. And I can't get a demo on a 2016 from a dealer within 300 miles. The new 409 on the 2016 is supposed to perform better than the 2015, but I would only know by driving it at my altitude, unfortunately.
  5. OK. So I can try replacing the prop, but I'm thinking I just bought the wrong boat. Anyone have the 409 at 6000+ feet? I can buy a 2016 FS233 for $96,000 and get what I paid for my boat. Good deal? My friends are going with the 450s and one has a Supra with a 550, so I want to make sure the 409 is legit at my altitude.
  6. I haven't had it totally unloaded. I've had a few adults and 4+ kids kids every time. But ballasts empty.
  7. RPM is no going much above 3,000. Cruise it turned off.
  8. I just bought a 2013 SV233 and have taken it out 3 times at 6,000 feet. I have a top speed of 30 mph, but it takes forever to get there. I don't feel much power on takeoff. I can't get a wakeboarder up to speed with any weight in the balasts. I was pulling the kids on the tube yesterday and could not get them above 15mph. My boat has the 1847 high altitude prop 14X14.25. I have the 5.7L 343hp motor. Any help? Please tell me I didn't make a huge mistake by not getting the 409.
