  1. First Boat ! First Post !

Your Mercruiser manual explains the different beeps. I believe the singel long beep every 30 seconds is for water flow. There is a water fow sensor that gave some trouble in 05 and 06 accoring to my dealer. It would be under warrenty and is a 10 minute job to replace.
  2. Enzo 230 Ballast

We started with the factory side tanks, then added twin 450's in the rear, the integrated v-sack in the bow, and about 300 pounds of lead in the mid-section. If only Phil and I go out we add a sack in the bow floor. The front weight really helps build a big solid wake.
  3. Wakeboard Wake question

The wake on most Centurions is wider than most other boats but as I have watched Phil progress the last few years I've learned that the going w2w even on the wide wake is more about technique and pop than it is about cutting really hard and having lots of speed. He is riding at 80 feet and 24mph on our Enzo 230 (same on the Avalanche last year). Different tricks require different cuts. Some require a long aggressive cut, raley. Others require a short progressive cut (rolls) and others require a long drift-in cut, off-axis spins. In every cast the maximum line load occurs at the wake. If you take a raley cut and try to spin there will be so much line tension that you will never complete the handle pass. If you don't start really wide on a spin and drift with constant edge you will not have momentum to clear the wake. Phil has been working on getting a back-mobe consistant. He starts with about a 7-8 foot very progressive edge cut and goes w2w everytime. The key is loading the line and not letting your body (legs, knees, waist) absorb the pop of the wake.
  4. 2009 Rumors

I have an 07 Enzo 230 with a PCM power plant. It is TBW, the integration with perfect pass is excellent, push the throttle down and don't touch it until you want to stop. It even works for double-ups if you don't turn too tight. I also believe the PCM is more fuel efficient than the Merc in my 05 Avalanche. I heard the Mercs with Cat's are being downgraded on horsepower by 5%. 330 is now 315.
  5. 2009 wish list

GPS based perfect pass Eliminate the hinges on the seats (especially the one over the v-drive access)
  6. I've always had Boatmate trailers and the only times I came out not centered were when I had the trailer too deep due to my error or the boat ramp is too steep. There is one really steep ramp that I use where we load the boat then pull about 1/2 way out, center, then pull all the way out.
  7. Sorry I haven't been on here for a few days. Phil rides at 80 feet 24-25 mph.
  8. white wash

I found it took about 150 lbs extra on the port side of my Avalanche to clear-up the wake.
  9. I had lots of play when a mechanic who changed my cable left the rear anchor attachment loose on a previous boat.
  10. I used a roto zip or a dremel tool with a roto zip bit.
  11. firmer wake

We had an 05 Avalanche for 2 years. The wake was always hard with good pop. More vertical than some people like and sensitive to washing on the port side. We removed the factory hard tanks and installed v-drive sacs in the rear and then added about 300 pounds to the front. Used some lead bricks to balance the side to side weight.
  12. Boating World Cover

You should bring your son over to hangout with Phillip while you're working in town they could have some fun on the river.
  13. May issue of Boating World features the new Falcon V. Team rider Phil Aslinger is on the platform. Thanks to JOA Marine in Atlanta for preping the boat and providing the crew.
  14. Falcon V Photo Shoot

Zapisor, The purpose was to shoot photos and we didn't start until 6:00 pm so we only used the factory ballast. The boat ran great, very quick out of the hole. The wake was solid with a long ramp. Probably needs more weight in the rear to make it more vertical like most Centurion wakes. I was very impressed with the interior and finish of the boat. I saw the first Falcon V produced in North Carolina at Surf Expo. This boat was much more impressive with snap-out carpet and interior finish.
  15. Falcon V Photo Shoot

The bimini has quick connect fittings for all 6 connection points, main leg, front and rear braces on each side. The main legs were attached to the front brace point. That is actually a good location for storage and towing because the bimini is fully supported by the tower. It will not get photoshopped for the cover. Maybe we should have insisted on it coming off, or being up. Its too late now.
