  1. Suck gate to trim tab

    finally have a photo
  2. I have a 2007 Enzo SV230 with Switchblade. I modified a Mission gate to work as a trim tab on the port side to clean up the propwash and now have a fantastic wave on both sides. Unless you are looking at a boat made after 2015 you wont find a better wave machine. see my post "Suck gate to trim tab".

oddly no, you would think there is a lot of force being generated, but ive never had it come off. We only use it when we are riding goofy, otherwise it has a negative effect on the port side wave. I've even experimented with using it in a neutral possition on the port side but it kills the wave. this makes me think that installing permanent trim tabs isnt a good idea on my boat. We use a mask to swim down and put it on when we need it and then take it off when we are done. Also I should mention that we use a Switblade hydrofoil.
  4. Last summer I came across a mission gate floating in the water. We fiddled around with it and couldn't find anywhere to mount it on the side of our 07 EnzoSV230 (too many contours). After some thought it occurred to me that it might work on the transom as a trim tab. So after some tinkering in the garage we used plywood for the first proof of concept and had some successes and failures with different designs. Now I've made the plate out of plastic. On our boat, our port side wave is fantastic but the starboard side would only hold if we drove around in circles, and even then it left a lot to be desired. By adding our repurposed "Mission gate trim tab" to the transom on the port side we are able to slow the water column down enough for the starboard side wave to form. Now we have a great starboard wave and we can drive in a straight line. by turning the plate around on the mission gate we have about a 9deg downward angle on the plate. I'm better with tools than computers, can't seem to upload a photo.
