  1. pretty much its like a flap of thick soft plastic hanging down from the swim platform to knock down spray http://www.wakeworld.com/forum/showthread.php?t=787204
  2. If you really want to make something a surf/Duffy flap should help spray more than the plate
  3. Fantastic wave for your boat. Did you have fun?
  4. Yea I do think they will sell. I think they can pull a lot of the borderline I/O market. I would much rather they buy one of these and be safe surfing, with a good wake. Fully optioned out they still stay cheap, you would have to go pretty intense to get it much over 50 MSRP really and at that point it seems like you need to sit back down and reconsider what you are looking for. People seem to be thinking you can get other "budget" popular boats for like the same money but I am not believing it anymore. I priced an a20 at 68k "on sale" and they sold it before the end of that day. No problem at all moving it... and none of the new dealer stock is stripped down and bare bones because why would they if they are selling them for 70 grand?! I would have to custom order one just to get the thing under 60 MSRP and then there goes a lot of dealing room with a custom boat a dealership doesn't want on the floor. I priced a supreme and ran into a very comparable problem, slightly less but still WAY more than this boat and they want to option out floor model budget boats.. because they can. ( also I like the Fineline dealer in my area, they were really nice and have good reviews but JUST picked up the brand so they don't have any boats that aren't just ordered and they are all selling like hot cakes it seems, which is great for them/supreme) It seems to really get down to close to equal price you are comparing crazy deals on new old stock from a year or two ago, or buying used. (All fine options, just saying from my findings it really is cheaper than any other current v drive options) Close your eyes and it feels good but the wrinkling of the vinyl I did not care for. Probably biggest negative for me actually.
  5. Yea sorry I tried to explain that the front middle is for storage. It's rear locker-ish sized. There also is a tray that can be had that goes in the engine bay for lifejackets and stuff. There is a pouch under the helm, bug spray, wallets, sunscreen, teddy Graham's etc. In general there is very little storage if you bring a lot of crap with you. As far as the roller, if I'm taking a 5ft roller over the side to get to that tablet there are other problems that are of greater concern than the tablet. The tablet is just connected by an app over wifi/Bluetooth anyway. You could connect the tablet and then shoot it or throw it overboard or whatever you want to do and the boat still works fine. You still have a vitals gauge. I'm sure you can go on Amazon and find a waterproof case for whichever devise you have if you're really into taking rollers over the side though...? For those using tapatalk videos dont display, there is a video in the post above doing a walk around but you need to be viewing it in desktop/web mode not just on tapatalk
  6. https://vimeo.com/172506770 Any questions I'll do what I can to answer from my experience. Overall it was a good time. Boat is the make of KISS (keep it simple stupid) everything is minimalist and simple. Ballast? Toggle switch for each side(600). Actually has a pump for each, that surprised me. With just one side full at 600 and 4 people on the boat (my bad I said 3 in video.. It was later when someone left and a surfer got in.) and a fat brick not all the way full the wave was rideable, very tall but short. It really needed extra nose weight and a couple more people or some more water/lead. It's hardish to see on any of my pics but it does have a defined lip, it's just oddly back a little bit, after that there is this odd dead spot... Well not dead, but flat without so much push. Very easy to wiggle around in (the better surfer said spins are really nice here... I can't do that... So idk from my experience) The boat is stupid fast for a wake boat. It really is a little rocket. The seating is odd. But not insanely disruptive and I didn't find it bad for socialization at all. It's not really a center console... It's just like a dual console with the driver in the middle, hard to explain. Wakeboard wake looked really nice. Bigger Than mine used to be and nice and clean at 19-20 mph with ballast full. It really, really needs a 300-400 sac in that front locker. Bow rises a lot and the wave is a little short without it, but I think with a bag in front middle and maybe the people all on the side it could be a really fun wave. I enjoyed the boat. I still don't love the looks, you get used to it in the water pretty quick but it's just a weird shape out of the water. He is going to keep me updated on the next boats to come in as he dials it in further, maybe I can get some pictures with one truly sacked out. Now, in that price range you can look at a lot of used boats, and I for sure will be. But, I think the negativity of the Internet hype train isn't deserved. It's a cool little piece of work and I'm glad it exists. I went in trying to keep an open mindset even if my initial impressions were extremely negative. I was impressed.
  7. Alright, imgur link to photos should be here https://imgur.com/a/DBWbk
  8. Here's a walk around video. Sorry if the formatting is weird. I'm trying to get this all don't on an iPhone edit* seems its not here at all. currently diagnosing technical issues
  9. Here's a little taste of street car takeover at Zmax in Charlotte was a ton of fun. Unfortunately I tore my transmission up 2 weeks ago but still had a good time watching. https://vimeo.com/172265456
  10. Bare bones 22 ft aluminum wake boat would be the bomb
  11. I'm not sure why everyone is still trying to make this a stern drive but it's not. It's a v drive inboard with a challenger 350 and apparently is like a little bottle rocket out of the hole. (I figured it out. Bryant actually just made a surf edition sterndrive with a backwards prop designed to be the first safe surfing runabout. its called the 233x.. and the wave looks like complete crap from the videos.) I'm thinking the interior will be its biggest negative, and I'll try to video "walking/crawling" around in it and how it feels. I only once took out a crew of more than 4 and I absolutely could not wait for them to get off. Liked the people fine but I'm not a big people person and would rather be with just my wife and dog or maybe one/two friends. I don't think docking will be hard at all. Docked a CC fishing boat for years in the ocean so don't see why his would be difficult. As far as the used boat vs this argument. Yea sure. You could buy a used boat for 40k (what this msrp's at) and risk it being a POS that you work on and getting to foot that used boat repair bill with. I now understand the positives of a warranty. I don't think anyone that COULD with equal financial ease buy a 226 or Enzo would buy this boat... But 25 grand is a lot of money. It will have to blow my mind I think for me to get serious about it. I would much rather find a NOS 226 or SS 210 but living on the east coast that isn't an easy thing to do. And 20k now is a lot more after years of interest. lets say 10k to put down on whatever you buy. Over a ten year loan at 6% 30k becomes 39,9k +10k = 50 grand 50k becomes 66k + 10k = 76 grand That buys a whole tow vehicle. Or a year of your kids college, pays off your home early, etc Is it worth 26 grand to you to have an better looking boat and a better wave? Yes, no, maybe, I don't know 10 units of fun vs 15 units of fun But.. no on should pay 50 grand for something and then look out the window and think UGH i cant believe I own a Dodge. I also have the advantage of never having surfed a good/great wave.... "Advantage" lol
  12. Yea but neither would a Sante or an Xstar lol. People on this forums waves aren't really fair
  13. I'm doing a lake trial on one Monday. My dealer/mechanic loves it enough to buy his own and is taking me out on the dealer demo. Trying to keep an open mind and see what's what. Will try to take lots of pictures. It's a weird looking piece of work!
  14. CRAIGSLIST FINDS

    https://mohave.craigslist.org/boa/5648902734.html fx22 53,995 + weird/sketchy baggage
  15. Green with envy! Got to get back in the water. Glad you are enjoying your spring mod dark!
  16. Sorry to hear that! Glad y'all were able to get it back on the trailer and everyone safe though. Boats conveniently provide the full range of emotions.
  17. CRAIGSLIST FINDS

Weird. You could get 20k with about any v drive imaginable out here this time of year
  18. CRAIGSLIST FINDS

Either they need that gone yesterday, west coast market is wack or there is a serious catch for that to be 16k Obo in good condition
  19. I just don't think it would be that much of a financial burden for correct craft to hire 1-2 forum representatives/online marketing team. I see auto performance companies 1/10th the size of fineline doing it for the forums they sponsor
  20. It's worth what someone will pay for it Not snarky answer: It's worth 21k all day right now if it's clean. That's pretty much the same thing as an avalanche just likely getting less traffic because people are searching for an "avalanche" same hull. I'd say a clean 03 Avy with FAE should bring 21k in season
  21. Grab your popcorn...

    I like hot sauce
  22. Grab your popcorn...

Sounds like the business is trying to take car of it so that's good. Crappy mistake. I have flags on almost every online account telling them not to use usps for my orders. I have had so many problems it's unreal. Things stolen, damaged, never appeared, paying for tracking then not receiving it, not being brought my packages, putting my mailbox flag down without taking my mail, on and on. Ups all day every day.
  23. May pics and video thread

It's not my usual color scheme preference, But that boat is so bad.
  24. Inland Surfer Tako Vs Squirt

I like my tako a lot. 6 ft 2 155 beginner. I have a short ocean board that's super bouyant that's easier to get up on so maybe mind of like the fish. The tako is noticeably easier to control and work on the wave. A real edge is amazing. As far as my experiences with it. It's been very good at my 3 pillars of surfing: standing, going up and down like an idiot, and falling. It's fun.
