I replaced my steering cables last year. My boat was a 1998 elite direct drive and had the tracking fin that turns with the rudder. Does your boat have that as well?

Hi there. I really don't surf, I ski so I like small waves. HAHA But I would like to learn how and hang out. I go to long pond, I don't think my lake would be good for surfing because its only 8-10' deep.

I have a 98 elite direct drive. It has been a great boat for me I have 1300 hours on it now. I feel like its a great family boat that has lots of room and you can still ski and wakeboard behind.

I have a 1998 ski centurion elite direct drive. The steering has gotten very stiff and I think its time to replace the steering cable. Does anyone have a part # for the cable?

Hey Timr71, beautiful boat I see it around on other fourms that we both belong to. I have a 98 ski centurion elite with the 350MPI motor. It has been a great boat and I have no complaints. Wish I could post some pictures.

50% white vinegar and 50% water to get rid of water spots for me. Once a year a cut and buff with Mequires marine polish or depending on the real bad areas a heavier cutting compound. Follow up with a good waxing with Mequires marine wax. I trailer, so every time it comes out it gets wiped down and then a quick spray wax.

I have a 1998 Elite open bow direct drive, I just hit 1000 hours this last weekend. I noticed a noise that I thought was coming from the motor but after further inspection it was the output of the transmission where the drive shaft and transmission meet at a coupler. There was 6 bolts that were finger tight and must have been causing the vibration. Has this happened to anyone else? I guess I will add it to my must check list. I wish I could post a picture to better show what I am describing.

Skibumm, Post some pictures when you can. I am interested in this project. I have a 1998 Elite ob that I would like to add LED lighting as well as stereo upgrade.

What is the best way to change the oil in a 98 ski centurion elite with the 350 MPI ski motor? It has the tube hooked to the top of the motor that comes from the oil pan. Do I fish the tube under the motor and down through the bilge drain plug hole? I do not have a oil extractor pump. Also what oil do you guys suggest.

I have a 98 elite open bow and I agree with skibumm, your never going to be able to dial in the wake to get it flat enough to really be able to ski aggressive or be able to ski short line. Any thing shorter then 15' off is damn near impossible. My boat is best for free skiing and just going out to carve a few turns and throw some spray. Great family boat though.

I know most of you like big ,huge waves, but I need to ask if there is any way to make my ski wake a little flatter? I have a wake plate and it has some adjustment arms on it but I haven't touched them. Right now im at 15' off and speed is 32-34. Skibum, I'm hoping you might have some advice.

I have a 1998 elite bow rider and I dinged my prop. I would like to get a new one and save this one as a spare. Who has the best prices on one and should I stay with the same pitch and 3 blade set up?
