  1. Driving with Tower Down

I probably did a very poor job wrapping our tower but it was a last minute decision and I didn't have enough Saran Wrap so ended up cutting in too many places. I did not tape where the cuts were so the wind did a pretty good job of removing most of the Saran Wrap during our drive. The end result was not pretty so I swore to never undertake again!
  2. Driving with Tower Down

Thanks for all the feedback everyone. I will post some pictures when I take delivery. We saran wrapped our tower for one trip and would not go that route again. Live in Calgary, AB so the drive out to BC lakes = terrible roads and terrible bugs. Like the idea of shrink wrapping but not sure how to go about getting that done - some kind of heat activated shrink wrap??? Might have to give painters tape a try and see if that works better than saran wrap. I am surprised that boat manufacturers haven`t built a system that can be easily lowered for towing, but maybe there is no demand for this.
  3. Hi everyone - new to the site and excited to be taking delivery of our first Centurion boat (2015 SV233) early next week. Comes with the new Maximus tower that can be lowered for storage, but I am wondering if there are reasons why people don't drive with the tower down? I hate cleaning off all the bugs so looking for a way to try and avoid if at all possible. Any feedback is much appreciated!
