  1. Got the Jabsco and just installed. Seems to work much faster than the original one. Filled about 1300 lbs (roughly) in about 10 minutes or so. Thanks for everyone's post.
  2. Found out both pumps are just about the same. Both have 1" and the Johnson one pumps about 20 gallons an hour more and I usually have it filled in < 30 so speed isn't really a factor. I may see if someone local can rebuild it so I can put in a 2nd pump! Thanks everyone. Hopefully the new pump will be my solution.
  3. Boy did I learn more than I thought. Thanks guys.. Appreciated all the comments. I eventually will have 2 pumps but for not the one i have would take about 30 minutes to fill both which isn't too bad considering i am patient.. lol
  4. I have called them and left my number. So what do i need to also purchase to convert what i have to the 1 inch. I think i can get that locally but afraid that I will lose the suction since i am changing sizes. No problem doing that .. just want to know what the ramifications are.
  5. I have 1500lb rear sacks i only filled up once. I may fill them 3/4 or just one depending on if i am on a wake board or surfboard.Crap, I wish I had seen your post DarksideR before I ordered it. I will keep that in mind. I was also thinking of taking the old one to someone to see if they can fix so i at least have a spare. I do need to add another pump since I have so much ballast.
  6. Found the updated version of my pump at wakemakers for 235.00. ugggg... I really need 2 pumps as i upgraded the stock ballast to 2 1500 fat sacks in the rear but kept the 300 in the center. I don't fill the rear as it is too much ... lol
  7. Not a mechanic so I couldn't tell you sorry. Just a boat owner.. lol
  8. I have the tube that connects to the bottom of the boat. No obstruction. I checked that first before i changed the impeller. I also ran the heck out of it (20 mins or so) and it wasn't pumping water. Last year it acted like it was trying to pump and it finally did which makes me think it is the pump. Thoughts?
  9. Not sure what you are asking? I disconnected the hose that comes in from the bottom of the boat and put my hand next to the inlet and it had very little suction. I have no water in my ballast ... yet.
  10. I have a 2006 Avy C4 and I am having trouble with my ballast pump. It's the Water Puppy one and I just replaced the impeller and when I checked the incoming pressure it was light at best. I replaced the O ring and lubed the inner wall. So the obvious to me is the pump is bad but I thought i would see if anyone ran into this and had another solution.
  11. I took out the unit and played with the paddle wheel and it's working again
  12. Thanks for the tip, may consider it or a total PP replacement with the GPS system. I just need to get through summer then I will tinker with the boat. My phone GPS has done the job so far but a bit of a pain.
  13. So I tried turning the paddle wheel (finally got around to it) and it doesn't turn freely. I was unable to find instructions (prefer w/pictures) on how to remove. Anyone have this information they can share? Thanks for all your posts Mark
  14. Thanks, will try that too. I did do a quick look over the wires and tried pushing in the plugs to the console but no luck..
  15. will do thanks, will that affect the speedometer as well?
