Tribal Tower Swivel Rack suggestions
CaptnMike posted a topic in Centurion Boat Accessories, Electronics and Modifications
Anyone with the mid-2000 Tribal tower have a good wakeboard/surf tower rack that will fit the diameter? Everything modern I am searching says it doesn't fit the 2-3/8" frame I believe I have. It would be great to hear if anyone has found something that works, and affordable. We thread the needle getting the boat on the lift, and the old racks need to be replaced anyway. Thanks -
Gel Coat Cracks A Purchase Deal Breaker?
CaptnMike replied to h2ohangtime's topic in Centurion Boats General Discussion
Every Avy I have seen (including mine) has these gelcoat issues around the nav light port. The spider cracks around the rub rail are totally superficial. Your hull flexes, gelcoat doesn't. Combine that with the daily sun, and the heat and chill of a boat which is outdoors most of the time, you get spider cracking. It would not prevent me from buying the boat if it were otherwise really nice, but you just have to factor in the cost of repair in the purchase price. It's not a huge expense. -
Upgrade, or purchase new(er) boat?
CaptnMike replied to CaptnMike's topic in Centurion Boats General Discussion
Well, let me be clear, the ballast is not completely stock. I do have the 1100# bags in the lockers (connected to the on board pump), and a 500# bag for the port bench (which I fill with the Tsunami). The wake is pretty good on that side, but it is a bit steep, and not as long as i'd like it. Thinking an upgrade in ballast towards the bow would be helpful, but when I add body weight up there, the wake washes out a bit, and so I thought maybe an adjustable tab would help. I bought an upgraded pump for the ballast after the OEM pump died, but it is no faster to fill....I'm thinking the size of the ridiculous valves limits the flow regardless of the pump. I tripped the master breaker a couple times, which also leads me to believe this. The audio system is a hot mess. A few of the speakers are not working, the amps are car audio amps, and not functioning well, The Memphis Audio tower speaker are completely blown, and the head unit, is a $50 Best Buy special which the bluetooth doesn't work. I would likely do a complete upgrade there, but wondering if anyone has an worthy yet cheaper alternative to the very pricey Wetsounds system. In the end, I can fix the audio no problem, but my issue comes back to usability. The boat sits on a lift all summer, except for the 5-6 weekends I can get up there. When we go, we are on it almost all day, but the change from surf to wakeboard, to surf, to ski, to tubing, to surfing, and back to wakeboarding is a pain in the balls. Is there a pump system I can buy and have installed, which significantly reduces fill/empty times? The Tsunami is really fast, and I use it on all bags to assist fill, but I want an upgrade to avoid the 20 minutes of "Ballast musical chairs" dance with a switch on the dash. I hope this gives you guys some perspective. If there is no pump system out there that is ready-made that I can have installed, I think I am in trouble, but I'd really rather make upgrades to this boat, rather than invest in another boat. Thanks for all the comments, guys. Keep em coming. -
Hey folks, It's been a while since I've been on the board, but I am struggling here. Love my 07 Avy, but weekends at our lake house have become a bit of a chore with all the different types of towing we do now that the kids are older and into more types of water sports. I want faster more automated fill/empty capability for the ballast (currently stock pump with the 3 tank valves, + Tsunami), I'd like to do a full audio upgrade, it needs an a-plate (preferably hydro-adjustable), and maybe a prop upgrade. Goofy side wake is a washed out mess..... Or....do I sell/trade this thing on a newer boat, that has more modern conveniences for changing ballast and has the sound and automation I am looking for? I really don't want the added expense of a new boat for the 10 times we use it every year, but not sure if the upgrades I would like to do on an 12 year old boat are worth it. Thoughts? Mike

Phase five board question
CaptnMike replied to ENZODAYZ's topic in Centurion Boats General Discussion
Both my boys started with a P5 Scamp, went to the Inland Surfer Black Pearl, and now moving to my old Inland Surfer Mucus. I am on an Inland Surfer Sweet Spot Ultra now.....love that thing. Upgrading your board, and handing down to kids is key these days, with board prices soaring. My boys did try an Oogle once, and were not happy with it. -
Silver knob: what is it?

This thread made me laugh. Thanks! -
Both my kids surf, and learned on a P5 Scamp. They are Surfing now on a Inland Surfer Black Pearl, with the large delta fins for stability because it can be an extremely fast and squirly board. A Mucus might be good too. At 165lbs, a good weight for it. They are all over the place used. Sent from my SM-G928V using Tapatalk

Looking for info on A-plate mod kits

Where do you guys run your plate while surfing? Relative to 0° to the hull, slightly down or up? My manual-adjust arm cannot go higher than 0°, and lowering the pitch down seems to make it worse. -

That is interesting. I guess I just assumed hydraulic is what I needed. I should have known better after just installing the Wakemakers wave control with electric actuators on my buddy's Maliboo. I don't need a gauge, just a switch/dial to adjust up and down. If you would be willing to make one for me, PM me. -

This would be ideal. The problem I see is removing the manual adjust and replacing with a hydraulic. As mentioned before, is it worthwhile to use an Enzo plate kit? -

I have one pretty close, but they seemed less than interested in helping. I called this place, but not sure if any of their designs will fix my problem. http://www.bennetttrimtabs.com/ -

Tommy, if you can make something that I can bolt on, I might be interested. I'm fighting the Starboard side while wake-boarding like Viking is as well, but I'd need some assurance your design works as intended. Have you made one yet? -

It's a manual adjust...drives me nuts. No matter what I do, I can't seem to get push on the goofy side, and it is messy as hell. It seems better (still not good) with only the back locker slammed, but when I put any other ballast in, even the center tank, it turns to crap. I was considering just removing the Tab to see what happens, but I think I'd like a articulating piston to adjust on the fly if anyone here thinks it is worthwhile. Thanks guys. MIke
