  1. Bad Day At The Office

I don't think they have enough ballast!!!!! Wave seems a little wimpy with no push......
  2. 2 week Lake Powell Chronicle

We just got back from a week and did great as well except we got blown of the lake a day early. Nasty windstorm as we were heading in from marker 50. We planned on shoring up for the night at about marker 20 then come home then next day but the waves were hammering us. Hit us so bad that I snapped a 5/8" SS caribiner that was towing my Avalanche behind the houseboat. It was an adventure to capture the runaway boat. Got it back, used a double caribiner setup on the towrope and went ahead and finished coming into the marina about 18hrs ahead of schedule. Still a great trip. As for photos we outdid you with 2500, as for canyons, many similar pics of the deep narrow slots. I sure missed my dads 17ft I/O because these V-drive don't steer worth diddly-crap! Glad to hear of a good trip as opposed to some of the other nightmares we hear about.
  3. sad to say but I am afraid that is what I will be looking like when we try for the first time with my new ride......
  4. New guy with Center ballast questions

So I can remove the solenoid and filter from the system?
  5. New guy here with a 07 Elite V-C4 "Air Warrior" I am setting up a surf system. I have questions about my hard center tank. I am not sure if it is stock or DIY pplumbing. I am not sure I understand the plumbing and hardware. I have a fill/empty rocker switch at the dash. Here is what I see and where I have questions. Rear end of tank with 3 fitting. --One out to small cartridge pump on the bottom of the tank with a side discharge. --one input fitting from Jabsco pump mounted on port wall ---one fitting going overboard Thru-hull fitting up to lever/ball valve into Jabsco pump then instead of directly into the tank the hose goes into the engine compartment, into a possible filter then into what looks like a sprinkler solenoid, out the enging compartment then into the tank. Questions 1. is the third tank fitting with hose overboard just a vent line? 2. What is the filter and possible solenoid for?
  6. Boat Cover

More than likely you are looking at a custom cover. Did mine locally for $800. It is tight!
  7. Boat photos you don't want to experience.

A friend told me a story. He states he was there. His buddy (a boat shop owner) called and asked him to head out to the lake to rescue a mad customer. Said customer had bought a new ski boat and on the lake he was mad because the thing was a lemon because it wouldn't go very fast or steer very well. He was so mad the shop owner wanted backup if it got ugly. They arrived at the lake and my friend (ATV expert) immediately noticed something wrong but couldn't quite put his finger on it. The boat was sitting funny in the water. They walked up to the dock, walked up to the boat, looked in the water and noticed......wait for it.......the trailer still attached to the boat!!!! The new boat owner had proudly backed the boat into the water and asked his friends to unhook the boat which they (apparently not being smart, being drunk, or just plain blind) did without question. The guy was pretty embarrased.
  8. Goofy vs Regular

Im a lefty but ride goofy so that makes me a normal righty? My boy is righty but rides goofy snowboard....grrrrr.. My dad made me learn to golf righthanded (I am much better for it) so my boy will just have to learn normal as well!!!
  9. Chenige....I don't know, I will measure later. The smallest diameter of the T-fittings are the same ID as the Fly-High quick connect components.
  10. Some initial testing. 5 gallon plastic bucket to fill. 15 gallon rubbermaid tote acting as my lake. 2 tsunami pumps with large clear hoses. one T-fitting allowing both pumps to push water out through single exit hose. Single pump= 30 sec fill time. this was repeated about 5 times/pump. (the simple pumps ran thought the same fitting with the other pump hose crimped to stop backflow. Dual pumps on T-fitting= 20 sec fill time. So theoretically a 750# bag that took 6 minutes to fill wout then only take about 4. The quest will continue.
  11. Wylie, troy thanks for chiming in. Troy, It looks like a good tsunami (1200gph) will nearly get you the same as dual Johnsons (1400gph) with much lower cost but they do give you the reversible convenience. Wylie it looks like using a Johnson would be better if you are pushing water all the way to the bow. Hmmmm. Maybe tsunamis in the rear for fill/drain rear locker bags then use the existing stock center ballast Jabsco pump to run a line to the bow which will be a smaller sac and would probably take about the same time to fill as the big rear bags. If the wife will let me a set of 8.3s with the new monster pump (3700gph) for the rear seat bags to switch more quickly from port to starboard......
  12. Wake doc: More wear? On what? the cartridge style pump I have read do not have issues with wear. What issues will I have with hard plumbing. I figure when first filling the sac we will watch it to make sure lines are straight and the bag is straight. Troy: are you using high flow pumps or not? Does the stacked pump set fill it much faster? Do you have a pic of your setup? Chenige: I have two tsunami pro x pumps with the larger lines that I would use for fillers. I think I will rig a setup at home and time the fill with both pump going.
  13. I have searched but not found my answer so I throw it out to the online brain collective. I see different pump speeds in terms of GPH. Are the pump speeds limited by the pumps themselves or to the diameter of the hose? Example: I can use a ballast sac with two 1" inlets and two hoses and two pumps to double my fill speed. Could I use one 1" inlet but use a manifold to allow two pumps to push the water through the one combined inlet. Will I fill the sac at the speed of one pump or will it fill the ballast at the speed of two pumps? I was thinking about hard plumbing my system but using a manifold that I can stack several pumps to fill or transfer weight more quickly.
  14. Even Orca Whales like to WakeSurf

It's thinking.....if I can get the fat one laughing hard enough she might fall overboard for lunch...... Dang cool video!
