  2. My son, Drake, is a 16yo autistic kid who loves boating even more than his dad. We have a houseboat and our Centurion. Anyways, Drake wanted to surf really bad when we purchased our boat this past summer. So, we fixed him up a surf board (made out of a knee board) and purchased a Zup board for him to surf on. It took him no time to get the hang of it. Check out the pics!!!
  3. Surf moocher the board my son is on is huge!!! It's called a Zup. Go into my gallery and look at the video of Drake on the Zup. I know Rhett could do it. Drake thinks he is a righteous dude because he has a different kind of board. He just had spinal surgery for his severe scoliosis this past August but is counting the days until he gets to surf again. He will be good to go in late spring. http://zup.com/flv_portfolio/boards/
  4. Boat Lifts

Lakerat, that's a drag you have to move the lift out after every season. I know our marina staff move them frequently and load them on trailers to move by land. However I do not think its real easy.
  5. LETS SEE YOUR RIDES

Bongo, Yes that's it in your picture. Thanks for telling me the brand. Earlier I could not find it on the Skylons website. I have a Wetsound pro 85 and a Bimini below the speakers and still have plenty of standing room.
  6. blew another speaker

I replaced my 4 skylons with the wetsounds 65's and it was a world of difference (also replace with JL amp). Definitely agree with above, find out why the speaker blew. You cannot go wrong with the wetsounds, very clear!!!
  7. New to site

Trublue, Congrats on the new pending Centurion. Send pics when you receive the boat. Welcome to the group, this is a great boating site and they give great advice!!!!!
  8. Boat Lifts

I will be keeping my cyclone on a floating lift year round. I highly recommend the hydrohoist if you can get access to them up in Oregon. They are well made and very sturdy. We have some 30' boats on lifts at our marina. I have a boat floater which have been around forever, it does not float as well as other brands but works really well for my cyclone. http://www.boatfloater.com/ Personally, I love my lift and would not know what to do without it. You can get up in the boat and work on it without it moving any. The picture attached is my cyclone on the lift. Hydro hoist http://www.boatlift.com/ I have had ok luck with jet dock for smaller boats and pwc's but not larger boats or V-drive inboards. Travis
  9. I really dig the soul slider and the fan tail boards. I might have to try a long board sometime. They can be fun.

    Utah--High altitude surfing!!!!!!
  11. I am just down the road from Austin where Shred Stixx is located and have talked to them quite a bit (Rusty). However, I am unfamiliar with their boards. The soul craft look awesome. Also, I have only surfed the traditional type surf board and have not tried a skim board which looks kind of cool. My Ronix just has a slower response on the cuts. I have an old beat-up, heat melted Ronix Koal (actually given to me, looks like crap) is actually faster and more responsive than my new nice Ronix Koal.
  12. Thanks RhuntIII and BenHolloway.
  13. LETS SEE YOUR RIDES

RhuntIII, Personally, I have not been able to locate what brand of tower it is. I can tell you Centurion calls it a double up tower. It is collapsable and made of 2 3/8" aluminum. We love it because it is so tall. It make getting up easy. Travis
  14. Bill, That makes sense. I have a 400lb bag I put in the walkway of the bow, but will place on surfside seat. I have an extra 750 lb bag that I can use in the cockpit floor. I would have never thought of putting a big sac behind the driver for port side surfing, but will give it a try this weekend. Do you have a pic that you can post? Thanks and will let you know how it turns out. Travis
  15. LETS SEE YOUR RIDES

Our Centurion Cyclone C4 is named Wicked. Our houseboat is named Drug Money.

  17. I surf with a couple of Ronix Koal 5'6" surf boards. I am around 220lbs. I am looking for a faster, more responsive board and was looking at the Shred stix. The reason for looking at the shred stix is that I prefer the more classic fiberglass/foam boards. What are other suggestions/recommendations out there?
  18. Winter surf destinations

We need a winter wake surf fest!!!! Call it the Polar bear wakefest or something. Lake Belton here in TX is still in the mid 70's. Althoug our lake is low (about 11 feet) it is a pretty good lake for surfing, the shore is rocky and mostly lined by cliffs, which keep the water pretty calm.
  19. STEREO INSTALL

I spent $$$$$ installing a wetsounds system. Hydrotunes (from Austin TX) installed and tuned the stereo. It was way more than I wanted to spend, but the sound is incredible. I installed 4-6.5's and a custom subwoofer box with a Morel 12" sub in the cockpit and a Pro 485 system on the tower. It is powered with a Wetsounds 700 watt amp for the 485 and JL 600 watt amp for the cockpit speakers and sub. All I can say is that them tunning the stereo made all the difference in the sound quality. The 485 will throw the sound for sure and it is so clear. I also purchased the LED rings, which look nice.
  20. Lenco Trim Tab

Does adjusting the wake plate down increase the steepness? How far down? I usually do not mess with the plate too much.
  21. BillC4, I thought about getting a V locker bag but do not know which one would fit in bow of the cyclone. What V locker bag did you get that fits? That setup is nice. I changed props and it made a big difference on the gas, went with an Acme 1645 and it is quiet and not as had on the engine. My original prop was a 17 pitch. Thanks for the advice!!!!! Travis
  22. New to site

Cool!!! Just joined up. Thanks for all of the welcome's and hospitality. I may ask a bunch of questions for sure. We just started surfing in July but have logged about 60+ hours of surfing since. Living at the lake is a plus.

I have some good video's but cannot get them loaded because of file size. If you donate to the site, do they allow you to load larger files?
