  1. S238 tow vehicles

I don't have a S238 but my 2014 F350 diesel does a great job of towing my 226 through serious mountain passes. It's actually pretty comfortable for a 1ton and gets much better mpg than my GM 6.0 gasser did and has better stopping power. I guess it depends on where you live and tow but I'm glad I opted for the diesel.

All kinds of options here: https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Dautomotive&field-keywords=curb+ramps
  3. October 2017 Pics n video thread

Cowabunga! Looks like your boy was having fun. I kept waiting for the hang ten.
  4. I need to fully winterize where I live but I still keep a Caframo heater ( Cwazy1's first link) in my engine compartment over the winter. I've only had it one season, but so far so good.
  5. Looks like a great time. Congrats on your new 244!
  6. I bought a used Doomswell Neo a couple of weeks ago and though I liked it, I was ready to move on to something else. I decided to order a set of Chaos Quad fins and try them on the Neo. What a difference; the board seems quicker and more stable at the same time and just felt better all around. My first set of upgraded fins and they were well worth it.
  7. I would suggest adding more detail about surf setup like ballast (bags, pumps, etc) and some pics of your surf wave. You might also consider keeping it. I know it's hard when you've lived close to the water but I have to drive 1.5 hrs. in any direction to suitable water and it's not that big of a deal.

Good save! That could have been hard on both boat and board.
  9. Keep 2014 or time to upgrade?

I have an F350 diesel and a big enough garage, so if you buy the 257 maybe we could share it? We're only 2500 miles apart.
  10. Fins Really Do Make A Difference

Thanks! I'll give them a try but at this point it may be next season.
  11. Fins Really Do Make A Difference

Yes, I'm running all 4 fins. I haven't tried it without the nubsters. I'm coming from mainly riding skim, other than my Soulcraft Slider (a different beast altogether), so I'm used to loose. :-) but I'm happy with the quad setup. I'll try it without the nubs and let you know. Recommendations?
  12. Fins Really Do Make A Difference

I bought the quad set of these http://chaossurfco.com/wakesurffins/chaoswakesurffin Mine are orange, as that is all that was left in stock.
  13. Fi23 first impressions

Any idea what prompted the changes to Supreme? It seems like the "If it ain't broke" adage should apply here.
  14. I took the boat out today (V226/Indmar) and it started up and idled but when I tried to move at more than idle speed it would surge back and forth. It finally just died on the way back to the dock. I changed the fuel filter but that didn't help. It seems like a fuel problem. Anyone have any ideas? It's 2 hrs to an Indmar service center and they can't get me in until late next week. I'm 70, so I don't want to miss any chance to surf while I still can. Thanks!

The head plant in the face of the wave is classic!
  16. InfinitySurf, Nice pics. Wetsuits aren't so bad, we use them pretty much all season, except when we break out the drysuits.
  17. Darkside, Great family pics and good looking wave. Is that Lake Pleasant? Your Shih Tzu is the spitting image of our Spike; he was a big dog in a little dog's body and didn't take any crap from my much bigger bird dogs. We miss him.
  18. What will they think of next? This would be great for my bum shoulder but not my worn out knees.
  19. Wipe out pic and videos

Thanks! I hope we both can surf at 90! The lake we usually surf is at 4000' and is directly fed from mountains up to 8000'. The water is cool and clear and in the mornings we often have the lake to ourselves; well worth wearing a wet suit. Besides, the wet suit holds my body together.
  20. Wipe out pic and videos

This one's not very dramatic. After an hour session on my 70th birthday, I pretty much just fell over.
  21. No Paddle Ocean Surfing

I'm still curious how they have it anchored.
  22. 99.7 totality from my backyard. Pretty interesting.
  23. It turns out that the leads on the Carter low pressure pump vibrated loose or were knocked loose. My high pressure pump is also whining, so I'm thinking of changing it out before it dies. I surfed today and it did fine except for one hiccup; we were surfing and all of a sudden the engine bogged down and it started surging again. We shut it down and restarted and everything worked fine. I had this problem a couple of years ago and the Indmar factory tech said to "run the hell out of it before and after surfing". I've been doing that and everything has been fine until this fuel pump problem. Anyone else have this happen? It always started ok and then would run out of fuel. I wish you guys were closer; I've heard lots of good things.
