  1. Thanks guys. I was pretty sure '03 and '05 are the same boat so my '04 is also. Apparently Cory identifies his patterns including the tower so that means he may have multiple patterns for even the same year boat. I am being told the tower cuts will be made by placing the partly finished cover directly on the boat and marking exactly where the openings should be. So, we (they) should be able to use either pattern to start with and it will fit my boat. Yea truekaotik, they should be able to compare the patterns somehow and see that they are similar - or not.
  2. So I decided to get a new cover from Cory at Evolution Covers. He is booked solid so turned me on to his buddy Brent. Between them they only have a pattern for a 2003 Avy and a 2005 Avy. Mine is a 2004. Anybody know which pattern if either would be correct for my boat. i.e. is a 2004 same as a 2003 or a 2005?
  3. Thanks Cyclingdad. Since no one else has replied I'll assume you are correct. Stay thirsty my friend
  4. My cover was shredded in the wind storm last week. I am shopping for a new cover. There are multiple options for factory towers when I select from cover manufacturer's pull-down menu's. Not sure what I have. Can you tell from my pic?
  5. Boat is on a lift on the lake and I have to drop the tower to get it under the roof of the boathouse. Thanks truekaotik but I need a much larger tower knob. UGH! Looks like a wrench and bolt for a while. Grrrr
  6. We are both on the Internet tonight searching for a duplicate knob. One of the two that hold the folding factory tower upright on my 2004 Avalanche. The screw part is 1/2-13 x 4 inches long. I suppose I could make one with a hand knob and a length of threaded rod. I'd rather have one or two overnighted. Want to surf in two days!!!
  7. I put the drain plug in, taped up the exhaust outlets, impeller and center ballast tank pick-ups. I towed it with the engine cover open so I could watch for any water coming in the disconnected heater hose - nothing. A little water came out the exhaust when I took the tape off and a trickle out the drain plug. I gotta get the tape off the pick-ups then I think it's safe.
  8. Thing is I have never drained this boat. Don't know what all is involved. I handled my previous powertrain (8.1L Volvo) without incident. I guess it's time to learn this one. Heater hoses, exhaust manifold plug or hose, block plugs, impeller housing?
  9. I am moving my 2004 Avalance with the Merc 350 from dry storage to a covered boat lift in a couple weeks. The boat is drained/winterized now. It may still freeze at the lift so I don't want water in the boat. The boat launch isn't far from the lift so I could concievably tow it with a little aluminum/outboard from the launch to the lift without starting it. Would that avoid having to drain the block and manifolds again or should I just start it and drive it over then drain it? Any other thoughts? Stay thirsty my friends
  10. Avy big wake

I knew that was coming. I''ll get a good one this week. I don't always go big wake, but when I do it's fo no show. Stay in the sweet spot my friends.
  11. Avy big wake

Had both sacs 1100 and 580 topped off and 9 bodies in the boat yesterday. Holy Hell what a wake my friends!
  12. I thought the graphics were kind of busy. Also the rounded bubble letters conflicted with the sharp gel coat graphics. Boat looks longer now and your eye is drawn to the chrome Centurion emblem. I dunno... it was a cheap mod. Peeled right off after being in the direct sun. No residue left. Just polished off the wax edges. The police often question him just because the find him interesting.... Stay thirsty my friends.
  13. LETS SEE YOUR WAVES?

04 Avalanche 1100 - Port locker 580 - under port seat 250 - factory center 700 - on floor (1100 3/4 full) 300 - in bow (1100 1/3 full maybe)? 470 - 2 men in the boat 10.0 MPH Perfect Pass Stargazer took some water over the bow on this run and freaked me out. His 2 cents is worth 36 cents. Stay thirsty my friends
