  1. That one looks pretty clean, but even thought it says Fresh Water Use in the listing, there's not much doubt it was used in salt water, especially since it's tagged in VA and all the rivers around there run to the Bay or the Ocean and there really aren't any lakes in the immediate area. When I was looking to buy my boat, every boat I went to see that was operated on the Cheasapeake or VA Beach area was in rough shape due to the salt. That being said, that dealer has got used boats there from all over the place. That Mastercraft, Malibu, and even the other centurions look a little worn but the boat you're looking at looks really clean. Maybe someone bought it at a dealer in VA Beach area and used on the James River or one of the larger lakes around here like Lake Anna or Lake Gaston. Try to get the previous owner history on the boat. I'm about 2.5 hours away. Depending on when you were going to come down I could stop by and check it out for you. I've got to go down to VA Beach next week to meet with a vendor, I might be able to drop by on the way. Whatever you do, get them to drop it in the water for a test drive. There's a ton of ramps off the intercostal waterway right where they are. Don't let the dealer tell you he won't because he'll have to re-winterize. It only takes 2 minutes to pull all the blue plugs and drain to re-winterize. Check for vibrations and sticky steering cable/rudder (common in salt water boats), and run it long enough for it to get up to temp and then some to make sure that no alarms go off. Might take a little running around to get it up to temp with the water temps around here in the mid 40's. DON'T BUY IT WITHOUT A TEST RIDE!
  2. Swim platform modding

I'll have to search for Duffy's to get some ideas. Yeah, with the boat in the water 3-5 days a week from March to November and the platform sunk most of that time it doesn't stay beautiful for much longer than about two weeks without needing to retreat it.
  3. I'm over maintaining my teak swim deck. I can sand it and oil it, but with so much time in the water it starts to oil out and cause some staining on my transom. I was thinking about sanding it down, coating the top with polyurethane and then applying Seadeck to the top. I've got a big roll of Seadeck and did a test directly on the teak itself and it stuck really well. I had to really pry up on it to get it to come off and it took off some wood grain with it. Anyone else have any experience applying Seadeck over an existing teak platform? I saw someone on Wakeworld who had coated the teak platform in smooth rhino liner then applied a pad. I was thinking about just sealing the top so that the wood can dry out when out of water. Any ideas? Oh also, the teak swim platform on the Avy is kind of squared off. Has anyone rounded off the corners similar to the current fiberglass decks? My wave is huge and dialed, but there's a little spray that I was wondering if it would clean up.
  4. Time to buy a new board, need some advice

You might check out Brigade Wakesurfing's 4'10" Bomber model for larger guys too. Full custom that sells for around $600 I think and it's super lightweight, high performance.
  5. Have you been out in 2013?

Was in the water all last week, but didn't really count as it was 85 degrees with 68-70 degree water temps in Florida. My buddies in Charlotte NC have been ripping it up all last week as well in full suits. It's 15 degrees tonight in VA, think I'll wait a week or two to warm back up a bit before we go out here. I've got a 5/4 wetsuit with gloves and boots so it's not the cold I'm worried about, it's finding friends who want to brave the temps. Sometimes it's just nice to cruise and be the only boat on the water too though.
  6. Hello Forum!

Thx guys! I help demo and design some of the custom handshaped wakesurf boards that are in the vid. If anyone is interested in more info about the boards, definitely let me know.
  7. Surf Board Help/Needed

+1 on factoring not just the size of the person, but the size of the wake, how they intend to surf, and if other people will ride the board. Chevy, I sent you a PM. I ride, demo, and help design boards for Brigade Wakesurfing. We build custom hand shaped surf style boards here in the U.S. that are ultra performance in sizes ranging from youth 3'9 to 4'10. I posted a vid under the general section where you can get a quick glimpse of some of the latest board shapes and designs, plus see the boards in action. Let me know if you want to know more.
  8. Awesome! I was thinking of doing this on my boat so we don't have to have exposed sacs in the walkthru when surfing goofy. I've got a ton of fiberglass and fabrication experience, and you made it look relatively easy! Wondering if you've had it in the water yet, and if you've noticed any disadvantages or areas of stress cracking around the seat of the walkthrough where you cut?
  9. Hello Forum!

Hi! My name is Jasin and I'm not new to the site, just new to post. I'm in Lake Anna, VA and have an 03 Avy. We wakesurf, wakeboard, and chill. I've got a meetup group where we hook up and give lessons, or let the more advanced riders rip. Here's a little edit I put together that sums up what I'm all about. Looking forward to being a part of the Centurion Crew! <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/lQB8zKxvROw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
