  1. Anchor setups

Hey guys scrolling through and thought I would post on this since this pretty much sums up the anchor buddy perfectly it seems. I want to get one for my families boat for now. Parents like to anchor out a little ways from the bow and done that many times but the inevitable swim is what ends up happening once you set the anchor. Then you forgot something and its dark and you have to swim out and what not. My main question is setting up a mooring buoy....so do this whole setup like was explained above but can someone explain exactly how the setup is to the buoy?? I have never used a mooring buoy but would be great once you find "your cove" for the day or for camping. The anchor buddy and your choice amount of regular sinking anchor line is attached straight to the buoy from the anchor but then do you attach your boat directly to the buoy or do the anchor lines run through some kind of ring that is attached usually? I have searched and searched this and have not found a picture or anything where I understand that part exactly. I am just imagining a rope running directly to this little buoy and tying to the rubber? I am over thinking this I am sure! Thanks for any pictures or clarification guys.

  3. New to the forum

Pretty sure I figured out my mystery with the different "back ends" Every one I see that has the different trailer(4 tailights, no catchers on the front) and the Centurion real small above the tow hook and the wider teak platform has the Mercruiser 350MAG MPI engine in the descriptions. This has got to be it!!! other than that they seem to look the same. For folks wondering I have not been looking this whole time just happened to notice it today and this is the only thing I can see to tell them apart. Any ideas here?? isn't the Mercruiser 350MAG MPI the littler engine or is this the upgraded option? Thanks
  4. Wow that does seem cheap. Its amazing how all over the board boats are.
  5. Strev, That air warrior you have looks like it has been cared for very well. I just got back from the lake today using my parents Reinell. It was a good time but I cant help but still want my own and make it a v-drive. I wish I could say I could jump on your boat right now but working on the girlfriend is another story. I appreciate your guys advice. Getting an 06 for about 20k would be about the only way that one would be worth it.
  6. Guys please I know this boat needs work with the interior and possibly more.. Strev, you actually went and looked at it? Does it really have the 330HP motor in it do you know? Did you go as far as running it at all? Thanks for your time!
  7. It looks like this boat is still available and I thought it sold already. Here are more pictures. http://www.theboathunters.com/new_vehicle_detail.asp?veh=29742&pov=2785651
  8. Is there a thing like carfax for boats? Or do you just call the manufacture and have them look it up maybe? Thanks, Kyle
  9. Dang! ya thats why its been kinda tough because it seems they are all over the board. The 06 air warrior that is for sale where I live they are asking $39,000. Then I see them going for $30,000. Just depends on the area I guess.
  10. Bimini's are $900-$1200?? Holy crap! Ya no idea on the electrical side if its good or not. Guy says it is all functioning. That's what would worry me the most. Electrical problems can SUCK
  11. Ya definitely noticed the standing water in the bow, Its been sitting uncovered outside for over a year the guy said. Which would lead me to believe there is no cover for it. How much does a decent cover cost these days? Travel/snap on? No more pics at the moment just the Craigslist ad.
  12. strev, You work 2 blocks from there?? wow small world it seems out here on the inter-webs. I fully understand the interior looks beat to hell and to be honest that's kind of why it interests me......for the right price which would be cheaper than they are asking, it would be awesome. I can't tell you how many things I have bought for cheap put a little elbow grease into and made better for either myself to enjoy or sold for a bit more than I paid. Not a business or anything but I guess you could say I like doing it. This boat supposedly only has 40 hours on it also. I'll be watching it and I hope it doesn't sell come winter time. Also it seems that I haven't really seen to many orange ones out there..
  13. Ya that sounds about right. Ill just cover it with newspaper, that'll work right??
  14. I have been emailing them a bit just seeing what they'd say. The guy told me that he would drop it to $29 flat but that's it. If I had cash to waive in his face may be different. Maybe they will still have it come November haha then Ill talk with em and go down to SoCal for a little vaction. In the one pic of the bow interior I just noticed there is standing water that is nice and brown. He said that the bank repo'd it and it sat for over a year uncovered...other than that it's in perfect shape with 40 hours he says.
  15. Ya I thought it seemed a bit high also for the condition of the interior. But get it for cheap (25k maybe) might be worth it. If only
