  1. We've found that the right underwater lights provide plenty of light for night surfing. I've got buddies that have Shadowcaster, LifeForm, Liquid Lumens, and Lumitec and all illuminate the wave plenty for surfing. I think the lake you're on plays a part on how the effect works. With that said a couple of those guys also have blue flood LED's on their tower that enhances the effect. I'm going to get a Rigid Dually flood with a blue lens this year so I can experiment with it.
  2. Replace them before they start leaking water into your block.
  3. I get to look at a lot of these at Powell every year so I'll weigh in. Lumitec is great. The shade of blue is deep, vibrant, and looks great in the water. Two Seablaze X do a great job but four Seablaze 3's do an even better job. Look great stopped and when you're at speed. Lifeform is probably the best bang for the buck out there. However, their blue is lighter than the Lumitec (or most other brands) so they get docked a few points. If the color doesn't bother you they look great when you're stopped and when you're at speed. Shadowcaster makes a great light period. Better than those listed above but maybe not worth the extra cash. Still if money is no object..... Liquid Lumens are right up there with Shadowcaster and possibly go beyond. With that said they have new offerings that are competing with the Lumitec and Lifeform price point and most likely are just as good. I hoping to get a look at their budget lights this summer. Cheap lights look great when you're sitting still but virtually disappear once your boat starts moving. I was set to go with the Lifeform 9s but I always held off because I wanted that deeper blue. The Liquid Lumens guys got me a good price at the Utah Boat Show this year on their Pipeline model so I bought a pair for my Enzo. I'm excited to see how these guys look.
  4. Bimini Help

    Sewlong in Salt Lake City.
  5. Everything is now electric. No pics. I'd take some but the boat is in storage.
  6. I had mine converted to electric and it was a great upgrade. Any trailer shop in your area will have the ability to do the conversion.
  7. S238 tow vehicles

Meh. I tow my Enzo with my Titan up and over mountain passes and down to Lake Powell several times a year. Sure I'm not going up Parley's canyon at 75mph but the job gets done. The only non-stock item I have on the Titan is air bags for the rear end. I do not feel like I'm putting myself or anyone else in danger.
  8. There are bolts sticking through the rear seat back that can be accessed in the engine compartment. If I remember correctly there are also a couple of bolts that have to be accessed by taking off the panels that separate the lockers from the side area where the underseat ballast is stored.
  9. 08 sv230 wakeboard wake

My wakeboard wake got easier to tune once I did the asymmetrical wakeplate mod. I know throw a very good wakeboard wake. To get it right I tinker with the ballast on either side or move my crew around.
  10. They aren't that bad. They definitely have a Supra vibe which is understandable. I'm not vain like you ingrates.
  11. I've heard the new B52's are pretty good. With that said look hard at the new Moomba Max.
  12. A quick update. Got my boat back and headed for Lake Powell last weekend. Between the new transmission and new rotor, distributor, and spark plugs, my boat ran like it was new. I'm going to winterize this weekend and will be a happy camper this winter.
  13. So a week ago I noticed a vibration while we were surfing with full ballast. I checked the fluids and noticed I had a low oil condition in the V drive. I filled it and took the boat out again yesterday to see how it felt. I do not get the vibration when I'm cruising. In fact I don't feel it until we're surfing with the ballast full and we hit wakes. When we hit the wakes the vibration starts. It dissipates after the wakes. The vibration can be felt throughout the boat. It's not major but it's there. At first I thought it was the nauticurl but I took it off and experienced the same issue. I'm thinking motor or v-drive mounts might be loose or maybe my prop is coming loose a bit. I have it over at a mechanic and they will be checking it out. Has anyone experienced something similar?
  14. Your bimini may be lower but mine is longer. Mine shades most of the area from the windshield back. I get four boards up on top with the optional board rack from Sewlong.
  15. I use a drop light as well. I stuck a digital thermometer in with it and it kept my engine compartment well above freezing. I've pulled the engine dividers and used space heaters a time or two.
  16. They aren't cheap but they are fantastic quality and are really great servicing their products. I've had to make some adjustments over the years to my bimini (to accommodate upgrades) and most of the time they just do the work and give it back at no charge. They also are great regarding my boat cover.
  17. Initially the V drive was pretty low but I topped it up and it was fine. The tranny has a big leak though so it's coming out. I'm sure they will check out the Vdrive since they have to pull it out first.
  18. Agree with Wylie_Tunes. Change your impeller now and don't worry about pulling it out for the winter. Pulling the impeller IMHO after winterization is unnecessary.
  19. I took the prop and had it re-balanced. Same stuff is happening. At this point I'm pretty sure it's the transmission.
  20. My Gatorstep is holding up well after one season. I get a lot of great comments from those who come aboard.
  21. The mechanic thought this was a loose/out of balance prop. Sort of made sense so all of that was fixed. However, it wasn't the problem. I hit Lake Powell for five days and the problem returned. As it turns out I get the vibration when the boat is loaded down with ballast. I also found that I'm leaking transmission fluid like crazy. At this point I'm pretty sure I have a transmission problem Anyone have any ideas on transmission leaks and what the repair might entail? I know new transmissions are pricey. Is rebuilding it an option? How tough are they to get out?
  22. 2008 ENZO SV230

I'm over 900 hours on mine. I've had to do some work on it this year but nothing out of the ordinary for a 10+ year boat. Do an A-plate mod and add ballast and you will be a happy camper.
