  1. new board help

Best thing is to try a few boards first but it seems that there aren’t a whole lot of people in our area that have ‘non-wakeboard brand boards’ to try. I have an IS Black Pearl (skim) and IS Sweet Spot (surf) you can try if you want—we’re usually out on Prior at least 3 days a week.
  2. Mine went out on the starboard side a few weeks ago around the 45 hour mark. Then I installed my FAE around the 50 hour mark and now the port side went out around the 60 hour mark. I didn’t think it was possible, but the wonderful “TIC-TIC-TIC-TIC-TIC-TIC-TIC-TIC†sound can get worse--it’s especially horrible when you have the FAE on to drown out the other sounds. I don’t even remember what it’s supposed to sound like any more…A month later I finally get to enjoy my FAE!
  3. Water Levels at your lake?

Both sides at the Sand Point access on Prior were looking better last evening. It’s still quite shallow but at least I won’t need to grab my shovel to dig out the rock pile in order to get out… at least for a while.
  4. FAE for Falcon V

Thanks Loc and islander033 for the advice -- I sent a PM to Valley Girl to see if she can help us out here.
  5. FAE for Falcon V

In order to get the group rate of $25 off plus the extra $50 off they have right now, we would need to have them ordered by July 15. As far as coordinating this, just send me your first and last name, email address, and phone number, and I will forward that on to Julia at FAE. (They don’t need to be ordered together and will be shipped separately.) You can just call Julia with your address and payment info when you are ready (512.647.7321).
  6. FAE for Falcon V

Thanks jquick for the measurements! I confirmed with Julia from freshairexhaust.com that they would do $75 off but no later than July 15th as the $50 discount may be going away soon. That leaves the price right around $370 (before shipping) for an FAE for the Falcon V (prices for a few other Centurion models are listed online http://www.boatpipes.com/FAE_PriceList.html). I’m going to order mine on Saturday either way. I see Top is on board now so if there's at least 1 other member who is interested, let me know.
  7. FAE for Falcon V

All of the other FAEs for Centurion models appear to run around $445 or so -- I would think it should be right around $370. I will confirm if I hear back from FAE.
  8. FAE for Falcon V

I should have it back this weekend so I can measure it then. I sent an email to FAE just in case they already had the dimensions and had not published them online yet. If anyone else is interested, let me know--we can do a group purchase w/ just 3 FAEs so it would be $50 off + and additional $25 for the group buy.
  9. Has anyone already measured and ordered FAE for a Falcon V? I see that they are $50 off right now and mine’s in the shop and I won’t be able to measure for awhile… Any help is appreciated. Measurements_Needed.pdf
  10. Thanks for all of the input. I’m going to order some trailer gliding pads and am going to try the dish soap for now. Anyone have any experience with the pads? I decided to stay away from the shallow access completely for this season until the water level is up. The water level is now below the last concrete slab. Another lake that we like to go to is currently renovating its access and looks to be a huge improvement from what it was before. It looks plenty deep and the concrete runs much farther down the ramp. The concrete used is also about 3-4 times the thickness as the slabs they pulled out from before. This should be a good place for me to practice and free from sand and rocks. I guess I will just have to get up earlier so I can get a place to park. Any recommendations for tow vehicles? I currently have a Jeep Gr. Cherokee that I used to tow but will be getting a different vehicle for next season—I think something a little bigger. Towing with the Jeep just added to my anxiety of loading and unloading it for the first time. What do other people tow with? Hopefully I can soon focus my time getting the right weight and balance for surfing! Here are a couple pics:
  11. Thanks for the info. I will give the detergent a try if I make it out today. I figured I would go out late tonight and practice a few times once traffic dies out. I haven’t been brave enough (or stupid enough) to try the shallow access that I mentioned. Am I ok as long as the lowest point of the back of the trailer (that goes around the prop and rudder) is not catching the bottom? The access is level for the most part until you get out about 10-20 yards. There’s an Avalanche that’s able to do it at this access and I believe that has about a 5†greater draft than my Falcon V.
  12. I recently traded in my Glastron GT185 for a red and black 2008 Falcon V. I’ve been trying to rack up my 20 hours before winterizing and storing, but am a little nervous (ok terrified) about loading and launching this boat. I was very comfortable with launching and loading my Glastron w/ bunk trailer but have really struggled with the Falcon V. In the past I have always manually launched and loaded my boat because (1) I am comfortable with it and (2) very shallow accesses in my area. Assuming there’s a decent access, can this boat be manually loaded? If not, any tips on power loading? I am comfortable doing it, but would prefer to manually load it. I tried to use the winch but was only able to move it a foot or two (this wasn’t an elbow grease issue). The bunks were submerged and the trailer was backed as far as it could be before the tow vehicle’s exhaust pipe was submerged as well. The ramp we were at wasn’t that steep but I really needed lay into the throttle and nearly created a tidal wave behind the boat to move it up a couple feet. At the end of the season, the water level at our primary access drops to about 1’ 8†– 2’0â€. With our previous boat, we would launch it by sliding it off the bunks by hand and then walk it out about 25 yards to deeper water (3’ 0â€) before starting. (There are gravel mounds and shallow areas that usually claim at least a propeller or two every day during the boating season.) What is the shallowest water depth you can safely launch and load this boat? I’ve seen another Centurion owner power load his boat last summer at this access when the water level was even lower, however, I didn’t get to see what the prop looked like after. Any help with this issue is apprecited!
