I am finally surfing without the rope, but all of my buddies have the exact same board - HL Broadcast 5'6" (2 fin setup). The problem is, I too am 5'6", which means I am too spread out to control the board. Solution - It's time for me to get my own board. I'm pretty sure I want to stay with a surf-style, and kind of like the IS Mucus. Anyone ridden? Will a 5' board keep me more balanced, or should i look in the 4'6"-4'9" range? Want to stay under $500. Thanks for the feedback.

I'm only 165 lbs, so weight is not a limiting factor in going smaller...thanks Joe.
