  1. Screen is in the heat exchanger, remove hose from right side of vdrive (while facing rear of boat) then look inside. Sometimes pieces of old impeller or debris are found there
  2. Sounds like the battery weak... Some will test great but not handle the load when trying to start. I would start with a new battery and clean the connections at terminals
  3. Well problem solved... Started checking connections and found wire to sensor had come loose. Crimped end of terminal tighter and reconnected gauge reads fine.
  4. Idling away from my slip out of the no wake zone this weekend, noticed that my temp gauge hadn't budged. Usually it would be just shy of normal. Not sure if it's the gauge or sensor/sender. Any suggestions on how to trouble shoot or pinpoint the issue. Impeller is a month old, and I felt the exhaust to rule out water not circulating.
  5. First one was a reman. Second is brand new. Both are long blocks and require removing and reusing all of your bolt ons. I made a mistake wintering my old boat 7 years ago. Replaced long block with a reman from Michigan motorz. Sold it to a friend 4 years ago when I bought my centurion. He still has it and it runs great. Not sure on the dealer as I installed myself.

  8. My 04 avalanche acted very similar first run out... Replaced cap, rotor and in line fuel filter. Runs perfect
  9. Finally got it in the water last night...... Not sure exactly if it was the fuel or ignition, but hesitation is gone.
  10. How many hours?

    100 per year
  11. Gauges are normal, No changes with perfect pass
  12. More like a light miss or stumble... It pulls just fine loaded or unloaded as long as it's around half throttle or less. Picked up some tune up parts today... Replaced cap and rotor, in line fuel filter, impeller and ordered plug wires. Installed everything this evening... Didn't get it done till dark so no time to put it back in the water. I also found a loose wire... Some type of valve or sensor on the side of the vdrive. I put a new end on and hooked it back up. Any ideas what it is? Or does?
  13. Pulled the cap and found a good bit of corrosion... cleaned and reinstalled... hesitation pretty much gone. But WOT doesn't seem to be quite what it used to be. Top speed last year was 40... and @ 40 it was hitting the rev limiter. Now it's only getting up to 32-33. Just seems to run out of power. Should I just replace the cap and button? Could it be causing the issue?
  14. First run of the season today... starts and idles fine... took off from dock with normal (half) throttle. Up to cruising speed of 25 with no issues. On the way to our riding spot, I gunned the throttle to pass a couple boats and the engine hesitated... it seemed any more than half throttle it was loading up. It's a 2004 avalanche with the 315 mag mpi. Immediately I thought fuel and began to unplug each fuel injector one at a time. Each one had a noticeable miss with the exception of cylinder 1... I've already pulled the plug to see if it was fouled... no issues... my thoughts are: bad or clogged injector, bad wire, bad distributor cap or rotor button. Any thoughts? What would you check first?
