  1. A friend just sent me the attached photo of his throttle control shifter. It's a 2002 Elite V. It appears the handle has come loose from the interior housing. Can anyone tell me if he needs to replace the whole mechanism, or is there some type of clip, nut, or other attachment that keeps it all together? Any help is appreciated.
  2. I have a 2006 Elite V with Black Scropion. Has anyone ever had to replace the ECM (electronic control module)? I posted a problem with the ignition cutting out and it looks lik it may be narrowed down to the ECM, but its inconsistent, and unknown what parameters make it happen. The mechanic thinks it may be the ECM based on them checking every other possible reason. Of course, right now it won't do it again at the shop. I'm curious if anyone has had to replace the ECM? Is Centurion any help with this even though it is outside of warranty? Thanks for the help!!
  3. Being unaware of your exact situation, but I lock my boards on the rack. I built a cable using plastic coated cables with ferrules and made them the exact length I wanted with a small padlock. The cables/locks don't allow the boards to be slipped out if you make it the exact length. I know that someone could use a big set of lock cutters, but just seeing the locks will usually deter people. Just a thought.
  4. I have that same tower. Skyline Swoop Tower
  5. I got some extra ones that I added to the dash area from iboats.com. This site has always been good to me.
  6. Cap and Rotor part numbers

Bigcatpt, best thing to do is go to the link below, click on "launch parts catalog", and put in your engine number. When you get the part number, go to iboats.com and enter the part number. They will give you the mercury and quicksilver cross reference. It has worked well for me. http://www.mercurymarine.com/parts-and-accessories/parts-catalog/ Click on "launch parts catalog"
  7. I'm looking for a little advice for a friend who has a 2002 Centurion Elite V. Last month he took boat to repair shop to have leaking seal fixed in his transmission. Dealer took out transmission and sent to another guy to put all new seals in the transmission. When he got it back, the transmission now slips sporadically while under a load. The dealer has been dragging their feet on getting it done even though it appears to be their fault that it now slips. Anyone ever have this problem? Could this happen if fluid level is low? Can they really be put back together wrong and slip? I have looked at schematic of transmission and I don't see anything that would slip, as it looks like mostly gears. Any advice??? Thanks for the help
  8. Here's what they found on the boat shop. After running for awhile, the vibrations was causing the filler tube plug/cap to loosen and then spewing fluid out. Once the fluid got low, it would start to slip. They put new filler cap/tube and there was another small leak they fixed and no more problems. You would have thought they would have noticed this, but boat shops can get lazy I guess. Thanks for the tips.
  9. It looks like a pro flight tower. Diameter would be 1 7/8.
  10. Manorial weekend

    Trinity Lake, State of Jefferson.
  11. I have a 2006 but I have a friend with a 2000 and he has the pro flight tower.
  12. I bought one from Aerial wakeboarding? and it works great. You can remove the whole thing except the collar on the tower for traveling. I have been happy with it and the price was reasonable.
  13. It is a good question, but a little short on answers......lol
  14. I am dealing with a similar problem and it appears to be the ECM, but your problem sounds electrical. I posted my question here also, it's under "ECM replacement?"
  15. If you go to Mercury Parts Express you can enter your engine number and it will give you the part number for everything. I get the part numbers here and then search for them on other sites. http://www.mercurymarine.com/parts-and-accessories/parts-catalog/ click on "launch parts catalog", and enter engine number on next page
  16. It all started a few days ago, the boat was missing and so I pulled cap and it had some corrosion. No biggie ! My bad for not changing it!! So,I changed the cap and rotor and boat ran great. Next day, when its running it stops and starts again, kind of like someone turned the key off and back on before it dies. There is about a 20 second interval of when it cuts off and stays running. I was thinking bad ignition wire, but tested it and its good and good connection. I also thought maybe bad ignition coil. I called dealer, and they said it sounds like an error code not an ignition coil problem. WTF? So, it's at the freakin dealer. Anyone have something similar ? Oh yeah, boat is 2006 Elite V with Black Scorpion motor.
  17. Thanks wickedC4 but I did check that by bypassing it and it did not correct the problem. It's back at the shop today. The first time it was a loose wire on a relay but they are going to dig deeper know. It's totally and ignition electrical problem, but it is not consistent. That is the frustrating part of this whole deal.
  18. Got the boat back from dealer. They found a loose wire in the man wiring harness which was causing a voltage drop. Great news!! We get back on the water and it happens again. It's not as often as before. It's a slight "hiccup" with no rhyme or reason. It's sporadic and does not occur at a set RPM, load, or any other factor. It happened about 7 times yesterday. Except for this, the boat runs great! Any ideas on this? Bad relay? Any suggestions would be great. Thanks
  19. I checked it but it didn't appear to effect anything. We leave the lanyard connected all the time and never undo it. I'll suggest it to the mechanic. How about some type of a relay? Could tha be the culprit?
  20. This forum is better then any manual you'll find anywhere!! Trust the people that work on their boats and do research from several sources and then post it here.
  21. I have found iboats.com to be very good with reasonable prices
  22. I have installed a ladder under my platform directly off the back and mounted under the platform. The Malibu version looks like a side mount/entry. It is not necessary, but if you have some "older folks", "lazy folks", "not so athletic types", or drank too much, it is handy. I have attached a photo. When in the water, you can't even see it. It goes unnoticed on the trailer also. Life is good!!!
  23. A Harley guy told me to spray speakers etc. with furniture polish and the bugs don't stick like they do without anything. He uses it on his Harley windshield and chrome. Just a suggestion
