  1. Just to clarify, the wires are not being used. These were the wires that ran to the back of the gauge blank. Based on advice from you guys I am going to cut off the burnt up part, trace the run an check for other damage. Cap them and put them behind the dash correctly. (null)
  2. Thanks trukaotik. I figured capping them would be the answer, but wasn't sure if I should just cut them and cap them. Thought there might be another step like tracing the run of wire and making sure it wasn't compromised elsewhere.
  3. Will 4 in boat speakers be enough?

Going to be upgrading the stereo in my 2006 Enzo for the summer and am interested on some opinions in regards to the number of speakers. The boat has 4 currently (2 are in the bow and 2 in the kick panel right over the v-drive). Looking to add another pair somewhere in between, but can't find a good place to mount the other two. What have you guys done in the past? Whole system will be 4 (or 6) XS-650s, a sub and a pair of Rev 10s. I want a good balanced sound and be able to hear the tunes while cruising on the lake. Suggestions?
  4. Will 4 in boat speakers be enough?

I would love the dash option, but I have an Enzo and not an Avy. (null)
  5. Right Surf Mod

Contacting Shell at Centurion was my first step. Unfortunately they do not have anymore, otherwise there would be one either in my garage or on the boat right now. As for running the boat in reverse, Centurion Skier hit the nail on the head in his post 2 or 3 ahead of this one. After seeing all of the comments above, I got to thinking that there has to be and easier way and contacted Walter to see if they sold refurbished ones, or if I could send mine in for a conversion. After speaking to a live person, there simply isn't. Walter makes over 300 different v-drive configurations and most of them are uniques casings and gearings. Purchasing a used one through them is not an option and "finding" one that would work on ebay, or somewhere else is a gamble that could end up costing way more than just buying the v-drive. So..... in the end, for my 2006 Enzo I am looking at $2600 for the v-drive, $500 for a RH prop and about $250 for the shaft seal since I am getting dirty. TIme to start saving my money. Surfing season in Seattle is just 5 months or so away.......if you can tough out the cold water. Now I have to just sell the wife on the idea which will be the hardest part of the whole job.
  6. I have seen the cut down swim deck mentioned a few times on the forums, but have not been able to find any clear pictures or drawings. Can anyone speak to whether the mod really helps or not? Thanks.
  7. Right Surf Mod

$2649.00 + $500 for a prop and $250 for the shaft seal since I'm getting dirty. So about the cost of the switchblade.. Luckily I have a few winter months to save.
  8. Right Surf Mod

Digging up an old thread here, but has anyone done this? I have talked with Shell at Centurion and all it takes is a RH v-drive and new prop. I even got a quote from Walter V-drive, but is it worth it? Are there other options or methods for a good Darkside wave? (eg trim tabs, switchblade, etc.) I would love to swap the quality of my regular side wave to the goofy side on my enzo. I have searched the forums and there is just a lot of speculation, but can't find any concrete proof. Help from the crew would be appreciated.
  9. Checkout the latest from KEENAN FLEGEL

Just signed up foir a clinic with him before the NWWSA weekend. Very excited to get some tips on the darkside. Not going to lie though, gonna be weird to gets schooled by someone who was in diapers when I graduated high school. He is one talented rider!
  10. I just finished up my automated ballast system install based on a lot of posts on this blog. Thanks to all, but especially Knuckledragger, as his blog was a valuable resource in getting my head around this project and ultimately done. Anyways, 95% done and running, but every time I flip the ballast switches, the Perfect Pass will lose power momentarily AND I am not able to run both pumps consistently. Setup is (2) Johnson pumps, each with their own thru hull. Boat is a 2006 Enzo SV230 that had stock mid ship tanks and pumps. I wired the new pumps by unplugging the stock switches and replacing them with DPDT Conturas. New switches are wired directly to fuse panel and ground block. Any suggestions? Can a capacitor be added or should I consider a second battery to handle the load?
  11. Just got my Add-a- battery system in the mail today. Looks like the beauty of this system is you can run a staring battery and a deep cycle. The charging relay works to sense, and separate which batteries need the charging. http://bluesea.com/viewresource/1388 Any brand suggestions for deep cycle batteries? My local boat shop was trying to talk me into a Lifeline, but at $375 there has got to be a cheaper alternative. I am not against paying for quality, but I don't think I need that good of a battery for some lake cruising. If I were offshore, it would be a no brainer. Besides, since summer is about halfway over, well at least here in Seattle, I am going to try and limp along with the one battery for the rest of the summer. I don't want to have to deal with maintaining it until next year. THe boat will be wrapped and stored so an on baord maintainer is not an option.
  12. Thanks for the tips guys. I just ordered a Blu Sea add a battery. Any tips on what the second battery should be? I am thinking Optima deep cycle blue top Group 34? Open to suggestions.
  13. When using an impeller style pump, can you fill the bag or tank from the bottom. To clarify, can your fill line (which is obviously the drain as well because of this style pump) feed into the bottom port of the bag, which is typically used as the drain?
  14. Fire Extinguisher

Yeah, those Halatrons are the way to go. Not sure if anyone is familiar with Griots Garage, but they have them. http://www.griotsgarage.com/product/car+accessories/interior+accessories/halotron+fire+extinguishers.do?search=basic&keyword=Fire+extinguisher&sortby=newArrivals&page=1 I buy ALL my care care stuff from them. Excellent company, products, and customer service. And no, I have no affiliation with them.
  15. New Member Intro!

What's up Crew? Been lurking on the site for the past week checking out some info and I am addicted! Figured it was time for the Noob introduction. My wife and I just purchased our first boat, a Centurion of course, and are excited for the upcoming summer. Located in the NW (Seattle) so I am sure I will see some of you around. This site is full of lots of good information and people. I think we made the right choice in purchasing a Centurion.
