  1. the light stays on all the time, no matter the rpm
  2. I have a 2003 Cyclone V Drive and the V Drive light is on. The oil level is fine and it runs fine. No weird noise or anything. What else causes this light to go on?
  3. No, the seat does not flip up. Just the butt pads in the bow can be removed. Not sure how to detach the back rest part of the cushion from the hull.
  4. really? I don't know anyone who could reach that. Pliers are a good idea, but how do you grab the end of a bulb with those? Plus you can't see what you're doing.
  5. Seems simple, right? I have a 2002 Hurricane and there are 2 screws on the bezel on the exterior. But when I take the screws out, the bezel won't move. I took the center seat cushion out and was barely able to squeeze my head under to see that the bezels are siliconed to the hull from the inside. This makes sense as to not allow water to get in. But how the heck do you get to the bulbs?? I can't reach my arm that far. Are the bezels in fact supposed to come out from the exterior? Or do I need to find a skinny, long armed person to reach from under the center seat?
  6. got the fuel pump in and it runs great now. So that was the problem all along. It was an annoying job, but nothing the average handyman can't handle.
  7. I ordered a new fuel pump and cooler ($350) and will be putting it in this weekend. will let you know
  8. found a service bulletin from Mercury that said they added the boost pump starting the year that my boat was made, but that some boats left the factory without it installed. Unfortunately that bulletin has expired and if I want the boost pump, I have to fork out the $750 for the kit. But this boost pump was only to help with vapor locking, so this has nothing to do with my problem.
  9. I called Mercury marine and they said I'm supposed to have a boost pump which is located above the fuel/water separator, but I do not have one. Or at least it isn't located where the service manual says it is. (They sent me a picture of its location) I guess I will have to pull back the carpet and trace the fuel line under the floor and hope I find it. If not, then I have no idea what to do.
  10. My boat is a 2002 hurricane. It died on lake yesterday. It cranks, but won't fire up. It will however fire up if you spray starting fluid in the throttle body which tells me the boat isn't getting fuel. I located the high pressure pump in the cool fuel black box and it does turn on when the key is turned. Does that mean the pump is fine? My local shop said there might be a low pressure pump that supplies fuel to that high pressure pump, and it could be bad. Does anyone know if there are in fact 2 fuel pumps on a 2002 centurion v drive? If so, where is the low pressure pump located. (pics are great!) Thanks in advance
  11. It jerks into a sharper turn. I will try checking the tracking fins and check the rudder for play later. Thanks
  12. It is very smooth. I've had a '96 Elite V-drive and it did not do this. Not sure what is causing it to "jerk" at a certain point
