I fill all the ballast (4950lbs) and put the center tab at 45 and put the surf tab at 70. My speed changes all the time since I surf the Delaware river and it tidal.

Thanks guys.

I didn't even know there was a 2nd drain plug. Where is it located?

I would love to hear how you make out with that new prop. -
Yup sorry 14.5 x 16.

I'm just running the prop that came with the boat 15.5 x 16.I run full ballast (4950lbs) and 4 or 5 people in the boat at sea level and have no problem getting up to surf speed. I am looking at bigger props to drop my rpms, I'm running around 4k and burn over 10gph.

My 17 Ri217 with the 409 runs great with full ballast and 4 or 5 people in the boat, but I'm at sea level.

I just picked up my 2017 Ri217 on Saturday and i didn't measure but it has at least 3" to 4" inches of clearance .
-
Did they both have great waves or was one better than the other?
-
How many gph are you burning with the new prop compared to the old one? I'm assuming you use QS.
-
My 2011 V226 only had 5/8" clearance and i got some burn. That boat only had a 13.5" prop on it!
-
Sorry, I'm at sea level and the engine is the PCM ZR 409. The boat is coming with the acme 1589 and after reading this thread I'm between the acme 1847 and the 2277, but I definitely don't want any prop burn. Thanks for any help.

Im picking up my 2017 Ri217 in a week and want to get a 2nd prop, I'm wondering if anybody has any advice on what prop to get?
-
I had the same problem on my 2011 V226. It kept popping out of the bottom U channel. I do custom shower doors for a living and noticed they were using 3/8" channel and they should have been using 3/4" channel. So I installed the 3/4" deep channel with bigger and more screws and never had a problem again.

There still installing the 14.5" props on the 2017's as of now. My 2017 Ri217 should be done in about two weeks and my dealer told me thats what I'm getting on my boat.
