  1. 2004 Enzo 230 - is it the real thing?

Proud owner of a 2004 Enzo. Has been the best boat. No problems ever. I even have the 350 MAG engine. Just prop down to a 911 and you are good to go!
  2. Thanks. Will look at the ground bar next time we go out.
  3. I've used this for about 4 years. Love it, and one bottle of concentrate lasts a while: http://www.driventoperfection.com/shop2/index.php?l=product_detail&p=18
  4. Been a while since I've been on the site. I've put up with a bad speedo/no speed on PP/squirelly tach gauge (though rpm's on PP are accurate) for a second season. I suspect there is a electrical ground issue somewhere. On an '04 Enzo, where would be the best places to look at the ground. Everything on the battery terminal appears to be good. Is there a any place on the boat that has multiple ground connections? Sorry for the dumb questions, but the boat is on a lift in a slip, about an hour away from a mechanic. Would love to be able to do some minor diagnosing myself. Thoughts? Thinking about upgrading to Stargazer but would rather find the electrical glitch if possible. Other than that, our Enzo is still going strong.
  5. Prop Advise

    No question...the 911.
  6. Posted this earlier in an Avalanche thread and thought I'd post it on its own, so as maybe to attract some Enzo owners. My boat is 1 1/2 hours away, so I'd rather have the part number (the length primarily) so that I can order a new Teleflex TFXTREME cable. Would prefer not taking a 3-hour trip to figure it out. Thanks. "I have an '04 Enzo 230 that I've been muscling around for the last two seasons. I know that I need to get a new steering cable. Does anyone know the part no. or should I just get the 20' teleflex cable? That comment about "fingertip" steering caught my attention. Also, how hard is it to actually do the replacement install? (for an average shadetree mechanic)?" Thanks. Thanks.
  7. Thanks, but the boat is almost an hour and a half away. I was hoping someone else with an Enzo 230 might see my post and let me know the length :-) That would save me a trip.
  8. Okay...another speedo issue here. You probably are all going to tell me it is the paddlewheel. And yes, I do plan on upgrading to PP Stargazer in the near future. But, I would like the analog speedo gauge to work. So, basically I have a needle at zero, and PP has 0.0 for a reading. Last year we began the season the same way, but we hit a big roller on our second time out and the speedo began working (and did for the rest of the season). This year, first time out both speedo and tach weren't working. I exposed the back of the gauges, sprayed some contact cleaner on the back on the posts, wiggled some wires, etc. The tach began working correctly. However, after 3 lake days, still no speedo (have been using PP in RPM mode...quite smooth I might add). I have went under the boat and the paddlewheel spins freely, so what should I do now? The only thing left for me to do (besides add PP Stargazer ) is to take out the paddlewheel (never have done before; how-to??) and relace it I guess. Anyone have a source or part no.? I have an '04 Enzo 230. THANKS!

  10. How do you pick up your rider?

Same here. I pick up on the side of weight when surfing, and only when surfing. All other times I pick up on the driver/starboard side, no exceptions, for safe driving reasons. Speeds and movements are pretty slow when surfing, and there is usually a strong awareness that the rider will be near the boat when getting the rope, etc for the next pull. When I pulled the 2008 WWSC's I didn't have to worry about it, since I was driving the "goofy" boat all day :-) .
  11. 2005 SV230 Prop?

Forgot to add that your tower is indeed made by Pro-Flight. Centurion called it the Tribal Tower. Great headroom.
  12. 2005 SV230 Prop?

Haven't been on the site since last Fall. I have an '04 Enzo 230 with the 350 MAG engine. We upgraded to the 911 prop last summer and OMG, what a difference in hole shot and maintaining set speeds it makes. You will be very pleased indeed. The only possible negative is if you do a LOT of lake cruising (long distances), your top speed @WOT is less, which means you'll be turning higher rpm's for a given speed. But again, that is a small trade-off for the excellent perforemance you get from this prop where you need it (pulling a surf or wake board).
  13. Samerin, are you still looking at the '04 Enzo? We've had ours for five seasons (bought new in May '06), and it has been one great boat. Still looks like the day we brought her home. We put around 75 hours a season on her, most of which are wakeboarding, wake surfing, and wakeskating with teenage boys. She has been flawless; it has never had a single repair (except for winterizing each year, and we did put some new vinyl on the bases of the cockpit seats this year -- i'm a little picky). The 350 MAG engine has been flawless as well, and has had ample power for even large crews (we normally have 400 lbs. of ballast up front and run about 1300 in the rear for wakeboarding, and have on average 6 to 8 people on the boat). We've been running a 525 ACME prop on her all these years, but mid-year (thanks to all the debris from the Nashville floods). we upgraded to the ACME 911. Holy cow...that big boat practically jumps out of the water. It really is great out of the hole. You do lose a couple of mph on the top end, but we don't cruise the lake a whole lot, so that is not an issue. Love that prop. And...we love our boat. it has been so good mechanically and the hull performance is the same as a new 230, I don't have a real need to change (and it is paid for!). Anyway, if you have anymore specific questions about the boat, feel free to ask or PM me. Hope that helps.
  14. I have an '04 Enzo SV230 with same engine(350 MAG/315hp) and 1:1 tranny and Walter V-Drive (assuming) as you, soonerjoe. My boat's OEM prop was the 515 (perhaps was yours as well). Our first month with the boat was June of '06. Putting it on the trailer very late one night, I had the trailer too deep, she drifted over, and BAMM, the prop caught the bunk. Time to discuss upgrading the prop. Talked to Bill at ACME and he suggested the 525 (we weren't running that much ballast then). We wakeboard/skate 70% and surf 30% of the time. For the last four years, the 525 has soldiered on on our boat. As we added more ballast (now routinely have 1500 to 1800#'s), hole shot was never really a problem as long as we had some weight up front, though maintaining PP speed was in and around turns. Well, finally, Sunday, with our lake having an inordinant amount of wood debris from the Nashville rains back in early May, a nicely submerged log dinged a blade of the 525. Needless to say, while we will get the 525 repaired as a spare, I gave Bill a call at ACME (has anyone noticed the boat that is on the mainpage of their website? : www.acmemarine.com) . At first I thought i would be upgrading to the 653. Bill firmly stated I needed to go ahead and upgrade one more step, to the 911. He said that if the majority of time we wakeboard and surf, we would be very pleased with the 911. He said if we had some skiers routinely, then he would suggest the 653. But, since we don't, this more "powerful" prop would improve hole shot and the maintaining of PP speed, and would be keeping the rpm's in a better part of the engine's power band during boarding and surfing. He said we'd lose around 2mph on the top end going from the 525 to the 911, but that is okay with me since we hardly ever cruise above 30 (and have an occasional tuber at around 29 to 30). I hope to install it this weekend. (I am probably going to attempt the repair with the boat on my slip in the marina, since my trailer hasn't been moved in 4 years and is probably all frozen up and with bad tires by now. Wish me luck! Planning on using an old boat cover as tarp stretched across the bottom of the boat, just in case i were to drop something. Am I crazy to attempt this? Bill told me he was with a guy who switched out his prop IN THE WATER, under the boat, in a lake! That had to be a challenge...in more ways than one!). Sooner joe, hope this helps. I would think the 653 you have now would be fine, especially if you tube a lot. However, once all that ballast is being utilized, if you detect difficulty with your hole shot, then perhaps an upgrade to the 911 may be in your future. (Just make sure you have some weight up front, so that the prop angle stays more level during your hole shot, thus getting you up on plane quicker vs. being too heavy in the rear and your prop is "pointing to the sky"!).
  15. So Proud!

I haven't been very active on this site in a while (boys are now teenagers, cars to purchase, house renovations, etc.). Just wanted to say that after the mrs. and I worked like dogs and cleaned the Enzo up following the winter/spring hiatus, waxed everything and got her ready to go for the season, WOW!...what an absolutely sharp looking boat! Beginning it's fifth season, it still looks like the day we brought her home from the dealership (okay, we did install new seat bottom skins in the cockpit, and we do have the crummy, pitted chrome on our Fusion racks that has been well-documented elsewhere). We had her out this past weekend for the first time this year, and we had others still complimenting how sharp she looks, etc. (you do have to love yellow, though...lots of yellow ) . People in the marina are shocked that our boat is an '04 (though she was first placed in the water on Memorial Day, 2006). The Hull is amazingly shiny, scratch-free, and new-looking; all vinyl looks great; teak deck always looks great (and can be re-newed easily anytime), etc. We are beginning our fifth season, and our boat has NEVER been to the dealer for anything since we left with it (winterizations occur at the marina, on the slip). We just jump in, crank it, and go all day. Have for four years. My friends with other well-known brands of boats have had numerous trips to their dealers for constant tweaks and repairs required for their boats. I just sit back and grin. My trailer hasn't been budged in four years (though i fear what all I'll have to do to it to get it roadworthy when i do finally need it; it's just sitting out in a gravel parking lot, in the elements). Anyway, With the same great Enzo 230 hull, I simply can't justify buying a new one (much to my rep's chagrin). Just very, very proud of the Centurion product. Solid boat. Well engineered and constructed. Of all the vehicles and other consumer goods I've purchased over the years, I can easily state that our Enzo SV230 was One of the best purchases I've ever made in my life. Honestly.
