  1. Yep... I'm in Hudson. We mostly boat on Balsam and Half Moon lakes in Polk county, but have been on many lakes in Western WI as well as Eastern MN. Siren is a great area with many good lakes, although I've never heard Viola lake nor am I able to find it on my map. But I've heard rumors of a "secret" slalom skiing lake somewhere in the Siren/Webb Lake area... perhaps that's Viola? We're looking for a good lake or two to play on near Duluth so we can visit our son at UMD and get in a few more slalom runs before it get too cold. Nebagamon might a good choice since it's close to Duluth/Superior and it looks like there are a few places to stay on or near the lake.
  2. Island lake was one of those I had been wondering about. Looks like a good size lake, and the slalom courses would be fun; I also understand about knowing the lake and it's shallow areas and hazards. I've heard of Lake Nebagamon before, but didn't really know where it was located. Sounds like a nice lake with a lot to offer. I assume the launch is good and deep enough for inboards? Are there any places to stay in the town on the lake? If not, Superior would be close enough for us. Both lakes sound worthwhile visiting... might have to make 2 trips and try them both! Thanks again for the suggestions. Steve
  3. We haven't booked anything yet, but we would be looking for a hotel, cabin or resort close by the lake. Our son goes to school at UMD so we would only go into Duluth just to pick him up and drop him off. I'm not opposed to driving an hour or so beyond or away from Duluth. I know there are some pretty nice lakes up on the Gunflint, but not sure if they're full rec use lakes or not, and they're a little farther than I wanted to go for a weekend.
  4. Hey MN Crew members... I live on the Eastern side of the Twin Cities and am looking for any info on good boatable (ski-able) lakes in the Duluth area. Looking at the map, there's a few, okay many, lakes to the West/Northwest of Duluth that look promising such as Pike, Caribou, Grand and Rice lakes. But I'm not able to find much other than fishing info on any of those lakes. We're looking for a good lake to boat, ski and jetski on while visiting the Duluth area later this Summer or Fall. Any info would be appreciated! TIA, Steve
  5. Faria gauge manual

Quick press of the Mode button; press arrow up to select Display 1 (top display will flash); press Mode button until function indicator (>) moves to the "F" location on the right of the display. You should now be displaying depth in feet. Pilot 1 Quick-Ref card is attached if you can open it. Good luck! Steve IS0179_PilotI_QR.pdf
  6. The serpentine belt for my '04 T5 Comp w/350 Mag EFI (315hp) engine has stretched beyond the limits of the adjustment idler. I'm not able to read any letters or numbers on the belt itself. Does anyone know if this belt crosses to an automotive belt that can be found @ the local auto parts store or are these only available thru a Centurion dealer? I don't mind buying from a Centurion dealer, however my "local" dealer isn't so "local" anymore. TIA, Steve
  7. July picture thread

Here's a few from this past week in Northern Wisconsin...
  8. That worked like a charm Next will be to plumb up the lubrication/cooling line. Will most likely T-off the manifold drain line and into the PSS barb fitting... unless anyone has a better recommendation? I used 3/8NC X 3-1/4 Grade 5 bolts for this task. Thanks again, Steve
  9. Okay, so I've got just about everything removed... with the exception of the drive shaft coupler flange. The 1-1/16 nut has been removed, and I'm using a puller w/socket behind it and on top of the shaft, but I can't get the couple flange to budge. I'm bending my puller (cheap tool) tho. Does anyone know if the coupler flange has some other type of locking collar on the hub end? Do I need to apply heat? Any suggestions? Thanks, Steve
  10. My '04 T5 Comp came with a Fly High ballast tank in the rear storage locker. I believe they also had a larger one for the hatch under the passenger jump seat and you could put a narrow tank in the in-floor locker as well. I've never weighted mine for surfing, but even with the tank in the rear, it produced a fairly large wake. I'd think with a larger one under the seat hatch, it would give you a good surf wake. My only concern would be swamping the boat with that much weight in there and being a fairly shallow boat. Good luck! Steve
  11. Okay... I'm in the process of replacing my original prop shaft seal assembly with a PSS Shaft Seal and would REALLY like to remove the piece of flooring that the engine hood hinges mount to (see attached pic). Any suggestions? Looks to me like it's either glued (doubt it) or screwed from under the carpet? TIA, Steve
  12. Thanks H! My shaft is 1 1/8", so I'll go with the one from DIM. One other question... do you slide the rubber bellows assembly and stainless collar over the shaft from the motor side, which I assume is possible once the current coupler and hub flange is removed?
  13. Just wondering if anyone has done a PSS shaft seal install in their Centurion DD? I have an '04 T5 Comp that still has the old style (i.e. NOT dripless) shaft packing, and I'm tired of having a wet bilge. I'm looking at installing a PSS shaft seal similar to the one posted earlier here on a V-drive. I'm also not sure if the one here (http://www.skidim.com/prodinfo.asp?number=PY1HG11X17) from Discount Inboard Marine is the correct one for my application? Any help/info would be appreciated! TIA, Steve
  14. The time has come... actually, it's past time, to change the transmission fluid in my '04 T5. My question is... what type of fluid is used? I don't recall any literature for the transmission being included with the owner's package when I purchased the boat. Also, didn't find anything regarding the fluid type on the transmission itself this past weekend. Anyone know what the fluid capacity of the transmission is supposed to be for this model when attached to the Merc 350 Mag MPI (315hp) engine? TIA, Roc
