  1. Boat-in Movie

Very cool, we do the ones in the park from time to time and they're fun. On the boat would be awesome...to bad I live in San Diego and that will never happen.
  2. Kids wakeboard

How big is he, if he's pretty average than a 119, something like that. You don't need all the new tech if they're just learning and I think the smaller boards are pretty basic anyway. I have a hyperlite motive 119 that I might be willing to part with. I was considering keeping it for my younger son but he's not very into it and I figure he can use his brothers board if he ever decides to get in the water. The board is in good condition but kind of dated, maybe 2007. The bindings I have however are really nice liquid force and are basically brand new so not sure I would let those go for to cheap. Anyway, check your local craigslist or maybe ebay. If you can't find anything let me know, although with shipping, etc. it might not be worth it.
  3. 2005-2009 Centurion

nope, but whatever this is all about it's working....do tell.
  4. Still blaming the wife for this one Dura? I carry a knife and dive mask. They're useful when your kid tries to fish with one of your dock lines while you back up. They're also useful when you misjudge the rider pickup on the river and run over your line while coming back around. Neither my fault of course
  5. Official Music of 2013

heard this the other day on the radio, kind of wierd but catchy...it's one of those "new" songs that was released over a year ago. Band is Alt-J. Video is kind of cool.
  6. Ribs anyone ?

I definitely have done one of the "Vegas Vacation" buffets with the "blue stuff" I try and steer clear of those.
  7. Ribs anyone ?

Sadly, 95% of the people that would actually eat at that place probably aren't going to stop eating there becuase of this. I've been to one of those places once, hometown buffet, and never went back...food was terrible and place seemed unsanitary. With that, I'm all over breakfast buffets in Vegas and even at the Bluewater where they do the Wakesurfing competition...good stuff. Dinner buffets I'll pass on...although I did do the one at the RIO forever ago and it was pretty damn good.
  8. Corroded Speaker Wire

Hey guys, I ran into a little issue the other day and was hoping for some clarification on what caused the issues and confirmation that my plan of attack is sufficient. Basically I was getting the boat prepped for the lake and I randomly checked that the speakers were working and all I could hear were the in boat speakers, not the tower. I checked the amp and all the connections and everything seemed good. Amp had power, wires were all hooked up, RCA cables good, etc. Still nothing. So I decided to check the Neutrik plug that I installed. First I pulled the female connector that’s attached to the boat. One of the speaker wires was completely corroded and basically turned to dust. The others seemed okay. Then I checked the male connector connected to the tower wires and two of the wires were shot. I basically had to cut off about 2 inches of wire to get good solid wire. It was late so that’s as far as I got. Plus I didn’t have speaker wire so I didn’t feel like digging into it without the parts to replace the bad wiring. So first question is, what caused the corrosion? Is it just from water potentially getting in there? It’s definitely in a spot where it could have gotten wet. I’m concerned it’s something more but it’s seems to just be confined to the area closest to the connectors. Second question is, will cutting away the bad wire and replacing with new solve my problem? I cut away a bit and found good wire so I figured I would just get some new wire, connect them together and be done. I do have a couple extra Neutrik connectors but honestly they seemed fine once I pulled the old wires out. Assuming this plan should work, what can I do to help avoid this issue in the future aside from getting better wire and replace it entirely…don’t want to go down that road because fishing it through the tower was a PITA. I appreciate any information and suggestions. Thanks in advance.
  9. Corroded Speaker Wire

Thanks Wylie, the female connector is attached to the boat by screws but I would be lying if I said it was sealed. I did cut some rubber, from one of the thinnest collars for wakeboard racks, that I had lying around but it was more for aesthetics than for a proper seal. I also don’t do anything to cover the connector when I wash the boat so that probably doesn’t help. Both of the connectors had some corrosion to one or two of the wires. I haven’t dug into the wire from the boat side so it may be worse off than the connector that comes from the tower, which I had to cut off a couple inches of wire. I appreciate the advice; I obviously didn’t do my homework before buying the wire and setting up the connectors. I was just happy the thing worked when all was said and done. I’ll be sure to try those things to help avoid it happening again.
  10. Exact same thing just happened to me. Replaced belt, all good. My belt felt really soft and was in need of being replaced so I'm convinced that's all it was and it ran great the next time out. Unless the belt was in good condition I think you're good. I did the same thing with the pump, you could turn it but it wasn't easy to turn by any stretch and it made noise I assume because you're rubbing the impeller against the housing without any lubricant (water). Anyway, sounds like dude was butthurt for being wrong I did pull mine just in case and replaced the impeller since it had been a year. Everything appeared to be fine. I hadn't replaced the belt before so I missed a day on the lake for not being more proactive with my maintenance. Going to buy another one to have in the bag of parts.
  11. My guess is wakeboard pro, mechanical - servo motor which uses the existing paddle wheel for speed and also has RPM mode. I kind of doubt the 2008 came with Stargazer (GPS), not sure they even had it at that time. Like Bill said, go to their website/support and download the document for the wakeboard pro 6.5 and see if it matches up. Best upgrade a boat can have in my mind. Congrats on the new boat! PP is as easy as turning it on, setting the speed, and going through the normal process until it beeps and takes over. When you slow down PP will disnegage. I always forget to turn it off so it can be slightly annoying to try and take off for the sandbar or something and it locks in at 22mph or slower if you were pulling the younger kids. Manual is really straight forward and easy to understand.
  12. Dang, that place looks sweet. How far, drive wise, in relation to Parker and is the river deep...I vaguely remember the river south of Laughlin being pretty sketchy. we do Parker a ton but my brother just bought a small trailer for camping at the beach/river so this place would work. Pretty kid friendly?
  13. I use costco, they're good batteries and they're return policy is fantastic =). Anyway, I know they're not the super gel whatchamacallit batteries but they do the job, they're inexpensive, have a good warranty, etc. I also don't run 8 amps, 10 tower speakers, 3 subs, and a neon sign so that may have something to do with it. Keep it on a trickle charger while stored...all good.
  14. Hey guys, bought this last year and never got around to replacing. Seems to be running fine but figured I would do it anyway this year just to be proactive. Is this pretty simple, i.e. unscrew and replace. Obviously I need to be careful and make sure the wires go on the new one, in sequence, as they were on the old but I'm not going to have to do any sort of timing or anything am I. I'm all good when it comes to taking things apart and replacing as it was but if there's something I need to do after the fact than I might just leave this for another time. I included a pic I pulled off the internet, it basically looks exactly like this. Did a search but didn't find anything on here. Also, it's been awhile since I replaced the plugs. Again, the boat ran great last weekend when I did my post maintenance lake test but would rather take care of this before they become a problem. dist cap.bmp
  15. Mine has done that since I changed the cable as well, basically, like everyone mentioned, you just don't have enough resistance to hold it straight like the old stiff cable. You either have to tune the rudder or not let go of the steering wheel =). I don't let go because I have the old rudder and I'm not going to grind it down. As far as the alignment being off, mine is slightly off as well since i did it by myself and didn't have someone to let me know when the rudder was perfectly straight while I reinstalled up at the helm.
  16. If you hold the switch up does it work? Could just be the lanyard, I had one that wasn't quite right, replaced with one a bit thicker, no more problems. Sweet boat, love the colors.
  17. Honestly, nope...replace. Some have said you can pull it and soak in something or other, can't even remember what, but if you are going to go through that much trouble just replace it and be happy for a long time. Plus you won't regret how nice a new steering cable is.
  18. Ouch, ha...I was thinking that to. Sorry Mancho, we're all pulling for you man.
  19. Right on, welcome to the site. Lots of good knowledge here and none of the BS. Nice, we stay at the bluewater from time to time and rent houses in the keys when multiple families get involved. Anyway, congrats again and good luck.
  20. Congrats on the new boat, where you located? I see beach and Parker, AZ and I'm thinking that sounds pretty similiar to me here in San Diego. I try and make it out there a few times a year. As far as towers, check greatlakesskipper.com they have a bunch of old Centurion OEM stuff including towers...from what I saw they were all under a grand but would require self install. With that, my buddy had an Aerial tower...it was pretty solid I think. You could definitely do worst. Monster towers seem to have a good reputation.
  21. FYI, I use one of the manual pump style extractors and you don't need to force the tube all the way down. I literally stick it in about a quarter inch. Most important thing is a tight seal. Pump it several times and sit back. Oil should flow freely. Definitely warm it up to operating temps which can take a bit on the hose. If you hear air escaping you dont have a good seal. You made need to pump a few times throughout process.
  22. What's with all the 350 MAG hate? Nah, but seriously that's a big boat for that motor. I'm thinking new prop in your future regardless.
  23. Kegararor

I'm going to go with not refrigerated. Nice job, better than what I had back in the day. Question, is your cat/dog pissed you dumped their bowl of food so you could use it to catch the spillage.
