Weight, weight, weight! I had a buddy on my boat this weekend and had him sit in the surf side corner. Made my goofy wave absolutely great! It was excellent before but another 200 lbs made it that much better. Very pleased with the wave on both sides of my boat.

I don't know that it is my place, but I'm going to put it out there anyways. If you are not a supporting member of this site, I would like to encourage you to spend the $30 to help support the site that we all use and enjoy on a daily basis. It isn't free for the admins to run this site and they put in a lot of their free time to keep it up for us to use. Lets see if we can double the membership in the next week. Please post up if you are a supporting member and when you became a member. i joined one week after purchasing my Supreme s238 (that was three boats ago lol) almost exactly one year ago and just renewed my memebership.

Well, with the help of my dealer and following you all and most helpful cwazy, I was able to drop the rope easily last night and really ride for the first time. Even tried my first 360. I know day 1 I shouldn't have been thinking of 360s but it felt good. Here is a video. Felt like I was on top of the world driving home from the lake last night. The feeling was just insane and exactly what I wanted. I know that the wave can be cleaner and nicer but once it worked I left it alone. I'm sure my qs setting was too high and my trim tab was off a bit too crushing the wave.. But, it worked... Any critique is welcome. Thanks to everyone who has helped me out!

I find it helps if you roll by fishing from your surfboard. It shows that you are trying to embrace thier sport as well.

When we were surfing at night, I found it beneficial to put the tower lights at a 45 degree angle, facing out to the sides , kinda rearwards, kinda sideways. It gave enough light behind the boat to the rider and it helped with spotting the rider when was down and the shorelines.

I bought diffusers for my rigids and they work really well. I will agree with what was said here that we use the underwater lights for night surfing, all the surfers complained about the bright lights in their faces (even though the lights are pointed at their feet). So we never use them except for night floating/swiming

Thanks Shaka, I'll see if there's any in stock when I pick the lights up today! Can you post a pic of them in use for me? im thinking now that I'm not gonna set these up to swivel because I can see a problem with the direction they point. What I will probably do instead is set these up facing the rear and get another set to mount to my tower arms facing forward.

I installed my light pods on the lower tower speaker mounting location. that way there was already a tapped hole for mounting the light and a 14-2 wire to supply the power.

Let's start ballast set ups here since it has to do with wakesurfing tips.. 2005 Centurion Avalanche C4 Storm3 bling pkg. Ballast upgrade from factory Port surf.... Rear port locker has a 1100 Fly High sac (completely fills locker) Added a 580 fly high sac under port side seat (400-450 I guess it holds without pushing the seat up) 250 factory center tank Added a 650 fly high bow sac under seats (will fill full) Plate just down a hair to clean spray 11.8 to 12 mph Rope is all the way out to show length of wave with actual push there. 2 -200 pound observers, 175 pound driver.

Check for a missing ground to the battery's. I know it sounds strange but I had the same thing happen when I reconnected my battery's and found that I missed one of the grounds to the battery.

Hey guy you can't start a topic like this without pictures. Post up pics of where you are going to mount these lights.

Don't know how to swivel front to back but maybe you can rig something that will allow that and will lock it into place in 2 positions. On my boat, I have one smaller LED facing forward and one facing back on each side of tower. Came that way as factory option. Works great for docking at night and is actually how front facing is labeled on my touch screen. For surfing tho,I would think underwater may be best since it will be hard to see if you are looking into a bright light mounted on tower at eye level, tho I could be wrong since I have not tried it and you do spend more time looking down when surfing. Nice lights

Probably useless but here are a couple of photos of my batteries. There are a few ground wires on them. Might help to check. Note that I only have the base stereo.

First outing at Powell PQF 100% SQF 40% PPNP 100% PPRO 100% 100lbs lead back outside port locker 100lbs lead back outside starboard locker CATS 75% Trim tab varies The wave was ridable and we had a great time riding definitely no Avy wave. Compared to my 2002 Avy the wave lacked height and push in the pocket but had more length. Second outing at my home lake was the same weight as above with an additional 400lb bag on the floor tucked back in the rear port corner, no weight on the seats. What a difference this 400lbs made. This pushed the rub rail just under the waterline and while surfing the vent looked very similar to @CO Surfer's picture above. The wave definitely came alive and was monstrous in height, push and length, momma was very pleased. I think I will be leaving everything as is and riding with the 400 on the floor. I will not add any additional lead.

I also own an 03 Avy/Escalade. The Escalade and Avalanche are the exact same boat/hull. The totally stripped down model was just called the Escalade. I don't believe it came stock with a tower or any upgrade options. You could then hand pick options like a tower, stereo options, ballast tanks, perfect pass, carpet options, etc, etc. Or you could buy it with one of 3 "Storm" packages. Once you got one of the storm packages then it was then called an Avalanche. I can't remember the exact details of the Storm 1, Storm 2, and Storm 3 packages. But the storm 1 package got you a tower and some other things. But realize that you could have just added a tower to the Escalade stripped down package. I believe 2003 was the last year they called it the Escalade. After 2003 the lowest package option was the Avalanche Storm 1 package. You have the "Regular" Avalanche/Escalade that came stock with the starboard side walkthrough. the Avalanche/Escalade C4 did not have the walkthrough and had full wrap around seating. I believe after 2004 they did away with the walkthough and all of them came standard with the C4 wrap seating....so I believe they dropped the "C4" label and just called it the Avalanche. @Troy Yes you nailed it! And you could get it with 3 different storm level packages. Yes Kind of...it is both an Avy and a Escalade Model. No the Escalade option did not necessarily indicate that it had a walkthrough. All the Avy's/Escalades had the walkthrough except for the "C4" models. The walkthrough was the standard model. Yes on the storm package. Yes on the carpet I don't know what was the "standard" for the Escalade and different level storm packages. Mine was pretty stripped down and came with the following:L Tower, no stereo, no perfect pass, snap in carpet in main cabin and bow footwell, bow filler cushion, no ballast, and an extended range extra fuel tank (where the center ballast tank usually goes). It had the avalanche sticker on the side as well as the Escalade lettering on the back corner.

With the new DSP amps, the amp's tune was developed by Wet Sounds, for each model, and for each audio option. For example, the amp tune for a system with just in boats, would be a little different then a system with a sub. An amp tune with a single pair of tower speakers will be different then the same amp driving two pair of tower speakers. The tune is provided to the boat manufacturer in a digital format to be uploaded to each amp, based on the system. It could be that the tune needs tweaked. Could be that something at the factory changed in production, prior to the original tune being developed. Could be a case of the wrong tune for that application, being uploaded.

With the stuff you said the dealer did, you didn't mention the distributer cap and rotor. Very common that moister causes green icicles inside. Easy to check and or replace.
