Well finally got around to installing my new swim deck. As you can see by the pics it is not as wide but it is longer. The original swim deck would drag some in the wave at the surf side corner. Hopes are that the new deck being not as wide that it will take care of that and also hope that with the deck being longer that it will knock down some spray from the FAE when I put it back on. Deck was a PITA to install. I bought new brackets so I could swap back to the stock deck with no problem if I don't like it. The new swim decks have aluminum plate inside. After drilling and tapping 18 1/4x20 screw holes the job is done. I think it looks way better than what came on my boat.

H......ran across this old thread and was wondering if you thought the swap of platforms was worth it on your old 226?

Did you buy the new platform from your dealer or some other source?

I'm kinda scared to even price a new swim deck.  It might be cheaper to trade boats!  Lol
