Fat Sacks - keep filled?

I have 2, 440 pound sacks and am brand new to surfing. Our boat has the center ballast tank that I fill and empty each time we go out. What's the best practice for the manual fill/empty 440's that we use. It's really is not too much trouble filling them with the submersible pump that I have, a little more difficult emptying them. I am wondering what everyone else does. Fill and empty with each trip?

Yes, fill and empty. Keeps trailer weight to minimum also so less stress on tires/axles.

Not to mention the new or existing laws in effect regarding transporting invasive species.

 

In terms of emptying, you should just be attaching the pump to the bag and throwing hose over the side (opposite of fill). What brand sacks and pump are you using?

I've got the Launch Pad by Straight Line 1,100 gph pump and same for the bags. Came with the boat when I bought it last fall.
