But seriously you guys in Cali, how bad is it? Is there any plans in the works to try and conserve? Is the problem state wide?

Governor Brown told me that the days of having my nice little green grass in front of my house are over. ?

Gonna be like Las Vegas, with painted lawns or realistic turf, so how many lakes have been affected? How many are already shut down?

Affected ? I would say most/all of them. This years rain didn't do much and zero snow pack.

Have any of the lakes been shut down to boating or recreational use?

For the first time in as long as I can remember, we have zero snowpack in the Greater Vancouver area. We've had limited snowpacks before, but there's literally nothing this year. Funny thing is, I've heard nothing about water conservation so far. We do get plenty of rain here though. So we're not anywhere near the trouble you fellas in Cali are in. You're all welcome to come for a visit! I've got a couple wetsuits! LOL

I heard that the lakes around Spud like Lake San Antonio pretty much a mud puddle and Lake Nasi is really low. A lot of the larger central valley lakes are low but none of them have been shut down and the Delta according to my friends is fine.

Snowpack at lower elevation is non existent but at 1800m+, lots of snow to go around. Yes, it is still less than other years but far from being an issue as far as water supply

This is from a local lake in Oregon. They drain our Reservoirs each year "For flood control". Most years the water level would be were my truck is but this year it is down 60 feet from the end of the ramp. Guess I better invest in a pulley system and I will have the lake to myself.

Shuswap area is at 85% normal for snow pack . Our winter ended 30 days early this year so, our lake level is rising 30 days early.

While we will not run out of water or have a boating season jeopardized, low water blows as the Shuswap's boat launches are not designed for low water levels....then again it may rain all of June which it often does then none of this matters.

Screw it...its National Beer Day...that solved it
