I was already researching my best to see how they did it. So far it looks like wedge with vertical tabs. One pictures I see shows it may have "surf tabs" as well like Mastercrafts with those vertical tabs on the edges.

 

As soon as I see some better info you will see me trying to build my own system.

That is pretty cool. You are still going to have to add more weight to the surf side because that really is not that great a wave. My guess is that boat is fully weighted for wakeboarding and they use the Surf Gate to push it over to the surf side. Now if you could combine the Surf Gate with a 2,000lbs (each side) quick fill system you would have a sweet wave.

 

It is pretty cool to see the way boat manufacturers are embracing surfing and introducing new technology.

I love how they say the side to side transfer has never been done before. Ummm they have never been surfing with Drew! He does it all the time for fun. Taught me to do it, and I have been over and back numerous times.

Where is that footage Dave? You must share! I've only seen Drew do it in one video, and I thought it was crazy! That and the Keenan nose slide thing are two things I didn't think possible wakesurfing.

Well looks like Malibu has been surfing the centurion crew site as if i recall that is pretty much like the Fins that everyone was talking about during the winter just added a bit of money and

engineering to it and placed the on the side of the boat.

That looks like it would be a pretty easy aftermarket add on. Does the side you want the wave on push out?

 

It sounds like they are saying you make a wakeboarding wake and then surf one side of it. A wakeboarding wake may be surfable for those skinny kids but not for my fat tush!

My guess is that the side you want the wave on would be the tab that's pushes out and puts the boat into a lean. Would be similar to turning the boat while loaded for wakeboarding. That wave is just too mellow. Like harlobra said, fine for the skinny skimmers, but ...

I'm definately impressed at how fast it switches side to side. I am unimpressed with the size of the wave and the marketing technique where they don't don't tell us how the stinkin' thing works.

 

If you put the starboard and goofy wave together it wouldn't be as big as the Enzo wave I surfed today. It was waist to chest!
