The new seal is water fed so cut the top hose coming from the t stat housing install the tee that comes with the kit and tighten. route the feed line to the new seal and connect.Reattach the coupling to the V drive compress the new seal with the collar one inch and tighten the set screws. The old water feed is fed off the exhaust riser just remove and plug with a 1/4"brass plug re install the prop and your done.Sorry for such a quick write up if you have questions please ask...........H

So did you have to remove your Vdrive to do this install?

Any special tools needed to remove the shaft?

Thanks

The V drive does not have to be removed to do do the shaft seal I removed mine because it had a leak but took the opportunity with it out to take pics of the coupling and shaft seal for the crew see this thread. http://www.centurioncrew.com/index.php/topic/4350-walter-v-drive-removal-and-reseal/ You at the very least need a prop puller to remove the prop. To separate the coupling from the shaft you can get four longer bolts and place a socket between the shaft and couplings and tighten down evenly until the coupling is free from the shaft.................H

If this is a mod you are not comfortable doing yourself do not allow any shop to tell you the V drive or the engine has to be removed to install the seal because It DOES NOT.The complete Job which is parts and labor should not cost more than $600 on the high side.Packrat can attest to this he brought his boat to my brothers shop for this mod and was able to stay and watch the job be done it only took a couple hours and cost him just a little over $500 and was done with the drive and engine still in the boat.......................H

T It should only take a competent tec three hours four tops I only work on my own boat and am not a professional and can do it in that time frame. There is a link above for the part as you can see it is just over $200 so depending on shop rate the price should be close to what I posted.Insist on the Pss high speed kit like I installed once done there is nothing more to do no more grease no adjustments and no more problems.................H

Where and what is your brothers shop? I'm just outside the Portland area and would love to know of another good shop other than our local dealer (Clemens).

If you can't post his info can you PM me?

Mojo I am sure admin will not have a problem. My brothers shop is located in Gresham he does not sell boats he sells service and if you ask me the best in town but I might be biased. He has been in business for 14 years and specializes in ski and wake boats and has no problem installing customer provided parts for custom set ups. You name it he does it.Packrat and T price have both used his services. Here is a link to his web sight tell him Harold sent you and he will give you a new customer discount

Ok, I have a question. I hit a sand bar at very slow speed (dang drought) and now I sometimes have transmission fluid when I empty my cooler. It is normally not enough that I can see it when I pull the plug, but I can see it on my driveway afterwards. Every now and then I can see it coming out in clumps when I empty my cooler and it is coming from the front of my boat somewhere. So could this just be my shaft seal leaking, or is this another problem? I have no vibration or anything else noticeable while I am driving the boat.
