So one of the options that was not on my FI25 was swim deck underwater lights. Well we went ahead and picked up some lights from shadow-caster, and was curious if A. the boat is pre wired for underwater lights, and B. how do i apply the icon for underwater lights to the dash touchscreen?

Thank you kindly

Also the boat is pre wired, and you can go through settings to change the options for lights on the dash.

Yes I know we had a fi23 and did lifeforms on it. You need the dealer code to activate once you wire them in

Any insight on why the lights would not be receiving any power when connected to the factory swim deck wiring?

You have to enter the dealer code on top left of settings screen to turn on power to the factory lead

I entered the dealer code to apply the swim deck button to the touch screen. Is there another step I am missing or a lack of fuses for the wiring?

No that should have taken care of it.

Hmm. Maybe I am missing something then.

Are your batteries fully charged?

Yes they are. Even tried this while the motor was running, and still had the same results.

Ok, lets start with what you found, that got the lights to come on?

Next, whats a few seconds? This lights have thermal control, and can shut down when they get warm.

Is it possible the lights need a relay installed? The shadow casters draw at least 5 Amps each. On our fi23 we did lifefourm 9 lights and they only draw 2.7 amps each and worked with no problems.

The only way they would stay on for longer than literally one second was to toggle the lights to the blue/white fade option. The longest they would stay on was maybe three seconds.

The next idea I was thinking was to add a relay from the stock power lead with a 20amp fuse.

Ok, thats not long enough to get them warm. But what made the difference between not coming on to coming on, but only a second?

The load of both could be overloading the PDM. A relay triggered by the PDM would be the solution, but you want to make sure the fuse does not exceed the capacity of the wiring to the lights.

The only thing that made a difference initially was removing the underwater light option, and re-applying it to the touch screen. Had me scratching my head.

The amp draw is 7.8 amps per light per shadow casters series diagram. I plan to run a thicker gauge wire after the relay. Alongside a 20 amp fuse that should be sufficient yes?

two pair 14ga to each light or a single pair 12ga for both lights would be how id do it.

Ok so last night I ran the relay, and thicker wire. Lights come on and stay on, but now the port side automatically diverts to the blue/white while the starboard side defaults to the factory blue setting..

Sounds like they are out of sync. Pick one and disconnect and reconnect the light's B+ until it cycles through to the same mode as the other.

I did that, but it always defaults back to all no matter what color I left it on. I messaged them and they told me to call on Monday. Hopefully it’s just a programming issue.
