Has anyone upgraded the head unit for this boat?  The boat came with the clarion and has a little display screen mounted above the start and stop buttons to the left of the stereo.  I just bought this boat a few months ago and the previous owner changed the head unit and left the clarion controller in its place and unusable.  Has anyone found and upgrade that works and is functional?  Thanks, Josh.

Find the remote's round connector and see if its has 6 or 8 pins. I think it should be an 8 pin connector. In that case, I think any of the current clarions units will work. I can recall if the 2014's had a standard DIN head or a black box style. If its a BB, look at the CMS4. The CMS5 is a killer head unit, but its slow to respond to the remotes unless Clarion finally addressed it with a firmware change.

What head unit did they replace it with?

Question is do you want to go through changing a head unit or remotes? If the remotes work, that is?

Stock was the standard DIN in the glove box and the controller was mounted left of the steering wheel above the ignition start/stop buttons.  Currently, there is a kenwood headunit in the glove box and the stock clarion controller is not in use.  What is the cleanest way to clean up the clarion controller, go back to the clarion unit?  It bugs me that the existing controller is just a fill in for that space, what have you seen done in the past?  Thanks.

The hurdle is that clarion did those rectangle remotes for a few OEM applications and they are all fit into the helm. This really limits the options without doing something custom.

That is what I thought, do you know what the best clarion model is that I could fit there?  Thanks.

I use a wetsounds 420bt the only thing we use is Bluetooth and the remotes don’t work. I have a iPad with Apple radio dedicated to the boat music and pics and another iPad dedicated to the GoPro on my boat. The head unit and remotes are obsolete on my boat. Works great for us but I have thought about getting a clarion head unit with Bluetooth to be able to use the stock remotes. I think what you/we are looking for is a head unit that could adapt with our remotes and have Bluetooth. So if anyone can let us know the model we need I’d swap it out this winter.

Go to...

"OFFICIAL Centurion/Supreme Boat Owners" in Facebook.

Type "Does anyone have any pics of the Clarion dash remote on the SVs? Better yet, a model number?" in the search engine. There you should find pics.

I did some copy pasting not sure if this will work.

@TwistC3 @Nick213 I have the same remote in my SV, so I can answer your question on what the head unit is....(it does have BT as well Nick). I actually had the head unit replaced under warranty in late 2016, it was having issues with the BT connection actually ...friends with Iphones that would come on boat had trouble connecting and I heard that can be a common issue for some reason), but my Samsung Galaxy has worked without issues.. Its a Clarion M303.

I read that there are a couple other Clarion head units that work with the remote (think the 505 may be one if I remember correctly), fit the space in glove compartment and are Plug and Play swap out... but this one has worked fine for me even tho I have read about some issues with it since its a little outdated now....2014 stereo technology which is like 20yrs old now, lol.
