New here, with a few Enzo questions ~

Hello,

Thank you for having this forum!  I'm looking forward to learning from the members here.  I'm sure to have many questions.......

Recently purchased a 2007 Enzo 216 with 33 original hours on the clock.  This was originally a Fineline boat (confirmed), built for a towing tournament with the Mercury 525 EFI.  Running gear is original and appears to be in great shape.

I wonder if someone could help me understand the plexiglas bow section divider.  It slips into channels at the walk-through, in front of the ice chest.  How is this normally used, and is there a cushion to fit in as well?  I just have the plexi, in a pouch.

Question #2:  There are 2 side compartments, adjacent to the engine bay.  The starboard side has a 2nd white door to open.  What's that about?

On plexi.....insert into the channels, close the wind shield and you have a perfect wind damn for chilly days, very nice to have! Can also be good when towing without cover to keep things from blowing out of the cabin.

The 2 side compartments in the rear are for ballast bags to weight down the boat for watersports (wimps use compartments for storage, lol). Never seen a 2nd white door to open on an enzo, but guessing it opens for access to something, what do you find when you open the door...post pics!

When I open the large upholstered door, starboard side, there's another hinged door to open.  It's the same size, just one door after another.  First the padded and upholstered, then a white one with a rough surface.  

It has the Storm III ballast package -- there are hard side ballast tanks at the bottom of both side compartments, lots of room above that for storage.  (i guess i'm a wimp ha!)

That’s some low hours. Nice find. Pull the hard tanks and fill those lockers with ballast bags. As far as the 2nd door I’m assuming that’s so you open the top one then people can walk on the hard plastic staying off your vinyl while going in and out to the platform

Did I miss the water coming out of the exhaustnports or is that a closed coolant system? Would be a shame to burn up a nice find running dry

Yes, it is closed coolant.  This is my first closed coolant boat -- I'm with you on not burning anything up!   My concern is/was the headers turning blue, but they seem to be OK for the short time that I run it out of the water for kicks.  

Anything I should be aware of?

Hmmmm... I know shore starts and dock starts, but not sure what you mean here.  Is it bc I don't have a tower?  Thanks!

not the best demonstration but you get the idea. Word of advice, make sure you don't have a teak swim deck if youre trying this. We tried a for hours and on mine last year and it was slicker the snail sperm. My wife smacked hard on her side and had a bruise for months. 

Worst part was when I got home I realized all the marks on the deck from the board that I had to sand down a bit and refinish haha

Super cool boat. Never seen one of these. What was it built to tow?

I think you may need to raise your swim platform from the look of your transom on the video; interested to see if others have surfed behind this particular hull and if it sets up different from a conventional enzo

The first owner (after Fineline) removed the tower and windshield.  I was told it was used at a towing tournament in Australia.... whatever they were doing in '07.

Where should the swim platform set relative to water line?  Thank you for pointing this out! 

Also curious about the hull now...

Dude!!  All over this action, can't wait to give it a try.

Platform starts are stupid and a good way to get hurt and jack up your surfboard and swim platform in the process.  Just use the ski pylon, you'll be fine.  Don't really need a tower on these boats (for surfing) except for your bimini to rest on.  I've just never seen one without it, just looks like an alien to me.
