I saw someone on her do this and I thought it was a great idea to pick up just a little more storage!  This is the dead space / access above the transmission and vdrive under the middle cushion of the back seat. It is a $3 container I got at Menards.   19”x12”x8”.   Fits perfect!

Here is a little more usage of wasted space...  found this cargo netting on amazon 2 for $12.   $2 in stainless trim washers and screws.   Keeps ropes quickly accessible without having to have people get up.

The storage container I cannot do cause my middle back seat "hooks" under edge of opening, great idea tho. Storage is a premium when you are using most of it for ballast!

I actually ordered similar cargo nets for back of my rear lockers a few days ago, the material is supposed to "velcro" to the fabric backing on my lockers but I was leary it would hold well enough (made for cars of course) and was gonna figure out what I needed to do to keep them secure once I got them. Screws are a great idea. Think the nets I got are roughly 10" tall X 16" wide, is that about what you got? You mind sharing the depth screws you got? I assume 1/2" is most you would want to go...assume on mine I will prob need 1/2" on mine since washer, net fabric and fabric on back of my locker will likely be 1/8-3/16" and I want it to penetrate the HDPE enough to hold but not enough to go thru.

My nets are also Velcro on the edges, but I also used 3/4 inch #8 screws with trim washers.  The nets were also 10x16 but are closer to 9x14, but it still looks like it will work well!

These are the 2 pack I got. They actually stick very well to the backing on my lockers, but still gonna secure with some screws n washers as MrWick did.

Just read your message regarding restoring your Barefoot Falcon.  I have a 1991 Barefoot Falcon with exact same floor issues.  I also had to replaced the stringers and am in the process of replacing the floor.  My question is regarding the need to replace the foam.  Like you I have several hundred pounds of saturated foam removed and I am not certain to replace it or leave it without foam.  Do you are anyone know if the foam is necessary for any structural support, or is it just for sound and flotation?
