There has been a new Bimini arm bracket kit that was made for the Octo tower. The part number is F0238. Dose it let you fold the tower down all the way ?

I just bought a 17 s238 last week with this kit on the tower. You can fold the tower down but you have to pull the right bracket in at the same time the tower is coming down so it doesn't hit the throttle. When tower is down the left arm is about 1 inch from the love seat. Cant fold the tower down with the cover on also.  Im going to do some research to see if  I can make it where you can get those arms off with some pins of some sort.

Did you figure out a way to drop the tower? Mine hits the throttle too, I will try your way. Also, have you tried to drive yours with tower down? Like going under a low bridge?

We got our Supreme in Oct 2016. The tower would not lower all the way without hitting the throttle. We contacted our dealer who referred us to Supreme. After 16 months Supreme said they came up with an updated kit. Our dealer has ordered the updated kit and will install it in the upcoming weeks. It is supposed to fix the tower issue.  The contact number for Supreme is below:

I have what looks like the same brackets on my '17 S238.  I can lower my tower but have to put the throttle in the reverse position to do so.  You also must hold in on the arm slightly or it will catch the upholstery.

I have a 18’ 238 and am wondering if any of you have put the tower down and tried to drive it under a bridge?

How lows the bridge? I would not drive with the tower down, because it sit on the window frame.

Just putting my down to put inside, it has chip the window frame paint while using a towel between the window and tower. I'm taking it in next week for the update will see if it works better.

What about the issue of the tower resting on the windshield and causing the windshield to pull from the deck and the base. ??

On the 2017 Octo has anyone experienced the upper board rack not clearing the window?

Have only lowered the tower once and the tower contacted the window frame terribly  and now its misaligned with the folding window at least a 1/2 inch.

Seeking to see what dealer will do to repair.

as per the update above ...Contact dealer for pricing...doesn't seem right to have to pay for an update.

Does anybody have a pic of the updated brackets installed. I just found the parts wrapped up in my bimini on my new boat, but no instructions on how it goes together.

I figured out how they go on.  Without the bimini brackets on the tower, my tower folds to it's lowest point to where it is supported by the tower cables without any issue.  Both the old style, and new style bimini tower brackets contact the windshield where they attach to the tower so I don't see a great fix here except taking the bimini off is easier to do as long as you have two people.  I wouldn't spend the money on replacing the old style.

I don't understand why they didn't just start moving the towers back one inch after they saw this problem.  All it would take is about an inch.  Assuming you have the clearance, I think the cables that support the tower when it is folded should be able to be adjusted so that they don't allow the tower to come down to the point where it hits the windshield.  Some of the Yamaha boat guys did this on their towers to allow them to collapse farther.  They are probably a mean woman to get to though.
