2009 Centurion avalanche propeller

All the sites I find say I have a left turn prop and recommend an acme 1579 . So I bought one. When I took off the existing prop I have a acme 644. I looked it up and it's s right hand turn. Did the people who owned this boat before me put the wrong prop on? Or what? I'm pretty confused. I've had the boat for month and have put 20 hours on it. I always felt like I was getting a weird vibration so I figured I'd change the prop out.

looking at the props it should be obvious if they are not the same left or right hand

the boat would not function correctly if the boat has the wrong prop rotation on it

if you have the wrong handed prop on the boat when you put the boat in forward it would go backwards

So the previous own had the right handed prop for that boat.

Thanks. Yep. That makes sense. Do you know what the acme 1579 equivalent would be for right hand turn drives?

Looks like a 1236 would be the same right spin as a 1579. http://www.acmemarine.com/prop-list_ski-boat.php

1578 is now the equivalent right hand spin the 1579. The 1236 was discontinued. Thanks all

I've got a 2009 Avalanche C4 and it does have a right-hand prop on it.  From what I gather, Centurion changed to right-hand in 2009 to help clean up the goofy wake.

Pretty sure it was an option.  It only came on boats ordered that way.
