Before I start down the path of adding a selector switch with a new 2nd battery what are the cons of no switch?
That you can draw down both with not having power left to start? What are others, because with our situation (on a small lake) it will not happen that often IF I can make my teen-aged son hook up the charger when he docks.
Wylie, my comments were toward the Wirthco battery doctor. it does not have a switch.
This would be a super easy install. Everything would be under observer seat.
Put a lug on the end of the (-) cable coming from the starting battery to the house battery
Put a lug on the end of the (+) cable coming from the starting battery to the Wirth
Make up a short cable with fuse (does not show fuse in drawing) from Wirth to (+) house battery,
make up a short cable from Aux battery to negative distribution block
make up a short cable from Aux battery to positive distribution block
