Tow Rope

What all do you carry for a tow rope? The only thing we have of any length is our anchor line and that's tied off to well, our anchor... We see at least two boats being towed every weekend we're on the lake, so I'd say it is highly likely we'll have to use it. Searching Amazon for "Marine Tow Rope" just yielded a bunch of ropes for pulling tubes.

Yeah, that's what I used as well. My "3 man" rope.

I use either my barefoot line which is also what I use to pull a tube.

I use my Anchor line. On my line I have a Figure Eight knot that is big enough to put around a cleat. I then attach this end to the anchor using a Crown Bolt. If I need to do some towing I can easily remove the line from the anchor and have them attach it to their from cleat or if they do not have a front cleat I attach a carabiner to the line then have them attach this to their bow eye. This allows many uses of the anchor line and saves having another line in the boat.

We use our 4-man tube rope. I figure it is rated the highest of any rope I have on the boat and at 65ft long keeps the other boat back off my stern a good ways.

yep a tube rope works great .it is what we carry to lend assistance it is the perfect length

 

X2....we also carry a three point quick connect that we can attach to our transom so we do not tow off the pylon.
