Not positive if what I am hearing is misfire sounds. Maybe backfire sounds? It's not loud. Engine will sound smooth and I hear random "misfire" sounds here and there when it's under heavy load. This happens especially if I have a lot of people and ballast bags are full.

There's probably no way to hook a computer up and read for error codes without a dealer?

This is an Enzo Sv230 2006 with a Black Scorpion 5.7L.

I second this. It is what my 07 would do when it was time to replace the cap and rotor.

I replaced it late last season. Having said that, I'll take it off and look at the condition. I replaced it with a Sierra part.

I also replaced all the spark plugs.

It's like popping sounds... am I describing this accurately?

Would anyone have the part number for the GM version?

I am guessing the best thing to do, is take it down to your local gm dealer or to an auto parts warehouse and they might have a listing for like ac/delco part number :)

I know everyone wants a cheaper distributor cap so they look for vehicle ones.. But honestly they are not the same and will fail faster or blow your boat up to be honest... Go Marine... Your insurance provider gets wind you put a car cap in you will be dropped... :(

I've heard of issues with some Sierra Parts, never ever used them, how about some other guys on the board and you to true, have you used Sierra stuff? Like it or is it not so good? I was thinking more to at least use a decent GM one, has to be better then what he's got?

Honestly I am a OEM kinda guy when it comes to specific parts, Especially for a expensive wakeboat... :(

Putting a vehicle distributor on a boat is kinda like putting a vehicle air filter on it.. It's just not made for the environment its being put in...

It's only about $10 more for the OEM version. I'll try it out.

I looked at the snapped rotor arm. It's held on by glue? Dunno. The glue gave out. I could glue it back on and just leave it hanging around as a backup at this point.

For once I agree with true, for what it's worth on a boat, buy the right part, 50k+ boat and your worried about 50 bucks for a cap and rotor? Save yourself the headache, get original parts
