13 Elite V A-Plate Goofy Wave Improvement

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone!

My name is Al and I'm in Kamloops, B.C. I've got a 13 Elite V C4 that's been very good to my young family of 4 .I already use the 750's and my boat throws a pretty impressive wave for an entry level boat.

It's been mentioned in a post that the A-Plate makes a big difference for the goofy wave and my wife is the only person in our family who rides goofy. Where can I get one? Unfortunately, my boat is already in the water......

Cheers, Al

Hey Al! Great to have more Canadians on the forum. I had an 06' EliteV for the past five years and just traded up to an FX22. I had a fab shop make my A-plate on the EliteV and it definitely helped the goofy wave. I made mine a bit smaller than the Enzo one and that was a mistake. Duramatt had better results with the one he had made. Do you already have a Lenco plate?or is it stationary?

Thanks for the informative post Dark. Yes, the boat came with a Lenco and a 343.

I originally read Dura's post about the A-Plate but I can't message him.

Ideally, it would be good to find someone who makes them.

Do you just secure it to the existing plate?

Yeah... all of Canada vs. Utah... and it's still just "almost". LOL

Nalgene: A few members have done that, but you actually need the wing to be 1/8" higher than the running surface so that water doesn't spray in the riders face.

That's a hell of an upgrade to an FX22, must have been a plenty of coin for that upgrade Dark.

Re: The A-Plate, is there a thread on this, I can't seem to find one?

It would be pretty important to do this right the first time.

I think this is the big discussion that everyone was working their ideas for their A-plate on.

Good find chadr. That thread has a lot of good info concerning the A-Plate mod. What you really should take from it is, if you're going to keep it flush mounted with the running surface, turn the "wing" up slightly more than the actual angle of the hull. This should give less space for water to catch and cause a new spray issue. Just be careful that it doesn't hit the hull when trimmed up.
