Just curious if anyone has added the switch blade to their boat after the original purchase? Did it make a noticeable difference and what was roughly the cost. I have a 08 Lightning and am thinking of adding the Switch Blade only because the add sounds pretty good. I would like to know if the before and after results are worth it.
Thanks for any info.

Where are you located? You can always hitch a ride with me and check out the blade on or off. Best way is to decide for youself.

Long story but mine fell off a few months after purchase and they replaced it under warranty. I re-ran all the electrical wires, new hydrolic rams, new pvc bushings, new metal blade. Very easy to do. putting the mount on there would be the hard part but supposidly all newer Cents are re-enforced back there for either manual or auto wakeplate. A good shop should have no problem.

I would put the price on it as a worthy option at $2500. Add a few inches with blade, shape wave on the fly, not have to have the perfect ballast setup, and very often over looked---virtually NO Bow Rise on take off.

Would I add it to my boat if it didn't have it, No because I'm not close to being a Pro anything rider. Did I miss the heck out of it when it was gone, Yes! I hated the bow rise and having to tell someone to park their butt on the other side of the boat to even the wake out. It really completes the boat. How much do you want to part with $4k and also you will get almost nothing if you plan on reselling the boat. I would say on resale, two identical boats I would take the one with the blade for only a grand or 2 more. Most people don't know what the heck it is.

I'll see if I can find some pics with and without it. Check back in a few days.

After driving the Switchblade-equipped 240 Enzo for two days at the WWSC here in Nashville, I became convinced that if I ever get another Centurion (I have an '04 Enzo 230, MTT), I will order it WITH the Switchblade. I was impressed with how it shaped the wake, increased heigth, etc., all with the tap of a switch. Wakeboard wake was awesome, too, again, all with just a tap of a switch on the fly. Drew loves it...now I see why.

Thanks all for the info. I guess I'll head down to the local shop and try and do a demo ride with preferably same model as mine that has the option. It would have to be pretty noticeable to part with the 4k. Thanks for the invite to ride but I'm up here in the Northwest-Portland, Oregon but if I'm there on business I may look you up.

Hey SteedRacer, after driving the SV240 with the Switchblade if you were to get another boat would you upgrade to the the SV240 or stay with a SV230? Just curious as to how the SV240 switchblade preformed.

Just boarded yesterday with the blade. Water was 58 and no wet suit. I wanted to take it easy so I told the driver to turn off the switchblade since it was pretty large. When it was off, I couldn't get enough of a ramp to really launch. Reminds me that I really like it. Surfing it's not as noticeable while your riding

This is the second time I've gotten my new blade out and I need to torque the bolts more as I was getting slight left/right play that I didn't get before. It was a mean woman to drive with it turned on. Usually I can watch my rider with a single finger on the steering wheel and track straight. Now it would really load up the wheel back and forth. This is something you need to tweek if you install yourself. I don't know how many foot/lbs of torque to put on the bolts? I could move the mount up and down with a hand push which is too easy. I'll get the specs and relay the info for others.

Packrat, sorry for just now responding. I've been swamped lately and haven't had time to hop on CC. Anyway, I still like the 230. Just personal preference, I guess. If you want the extra foot in the cockpit that the 240 provides, then go for it. The 240 may require more weight, due to it's size. As far as driving it, the 240 was just as easy to drive as the 230. Of course, for World's, it was weighted pretty heavy, but the other driver and I had no issues with maneuverability, etc. throughout the weekend. I'd say it just comes down to whether or not you want the 1 ft. This thread on WW is timely. Troy and the guys in salt Lake probably have more experience with the SW than anyone else: http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/message...html?1226011129 .

Hope that was helpful.
